Cartier price increase thread *please include your location*

In Australia. I’ve been considering buying a watch for a while now, specifically the Baignoire Mini on a leather strap (currently AUD 11,800). Maybe it is time to pull the trigger? Does anyone have insight on what the expected increase be? Wishful thinking it could be a decrease? 😆

Earlier today in the US my Cartier SA said the classic love bracelet is going from $7350 to $7850. That is $500 more and a 6.8% increase. I did not ask about any other bracelet. They confirmed May 14.

I wonder why that is. Some people seem to get an exact number or percentage concerning a specific piece or collection while others are told the line will be unaffected. Are some SAs trying to capitalize off of this and make a quick sale or push people to buy?

For what it is worth, yesterday my SA said that there will be an increase across the board next week but watches will have the steeper price increase.

Personally I think the bottom line is: If you are eyeing a piece and can afford to get it now (and don’t want to potentially pay more) … go ahead and do so.

Despite the rampant rumors, speculation, and conflicting info, it seems incredibly likely that there will probably be a worldwide PI on May 14.

No one knows exactly what pieces will be affected by what percentages and in what countries, but if you would be upset by potentially having to pay even a small percentage more, why not pull the trigger now if you can?

Although we do not like to make returns, Cartier has a reasonable 30-day return policy on (obviously) unworn pieces, so if you change your mind for whatever reason you could return it after the 14th if needed.

I was told by my US SA that it's going to be a big increase of 18-37%, and it will happen globally. They usually have the 3-5% increase but this was planned for a few years. I texted my SA looking for a panthere watch not realizing that there will be an increase.

SA told me small love but not regular love increasing May 14?

I heard the exact same thing from my SA (US)! small love going up by $200ish, medium/classic no change.
