After the announcement of the luxury tax in Malaysia on Friday, 24 Feb, I went to the website to look see on items I might want to get and lo and behold, discovered that my 2-month old Love Cuff has already gone up in price by 4.9% from RM20.4k to RM21.4k. Checked out other items as well and discovered that prices have gone up close to 5% across the board. So that luxury tax will be introduced on the prices which have just increased

No mention on the luxury goods tax rate during the budget announcement… but my SA mentioned there cld be another round of increase in Apr which they find it ridiculous given the extra work at back office to frequently adjust prices. Originally they thought it’s selected countries but it seems cld be global adjustment. Anyway it’s not confirm.I read it’s up to 2percent on luxury tax?

I spoke to an SA at Cartier London and said they are not aware of a price increase as they have just had one this month and would be very unlikely to have a second so soon. I will double check with my regular SA!
Any update on cartier price increase !? Is it going to be a shocker like Chanel price increase ?
Australia price increase mid March, I think 13th. Some of the items I asked about were about 10% increase (clash bracelet and panthere ring), some may be more.
oops Sorry Australia, i was told by my SA that the price increase is next week. am not sure by how much !
i panicked and paid deposit for Love bracelet ..
was going to buy Clash bracelet too .. but not sure if i should panic buy that one too

Thanks Aussie friends for sharing the inevitable dismal news. I will also have to buy the matching clash bracelet that I have been putting off for a couple of years now.
These announcements of price increases in other countries is leading me to believe that there is a good chance the US will have a hefty price increase as well. I am trying so hard not to panic buy!
