Ugh bad news. Yes price increase is confirmed in US she’s just unsure of by how much and which collections but she is almost positive the Love collection will increase again because of low supply and high demand. Bummer, this all sucks and happens too often. She will keep me updated though once they find out more and I will post when I know more and specific dates.
ughh I just contacted my SA:( I am waiting to hear back from her. I wanted to purchase the Tank Watch for my birthday next month. I have put off purchasing the Love Bracelet until we go to Hawaii in April to save on taxes. I am so annoyed....

This is too bad. I wanted a small JUC to go with my two love cuffs. Have been a bit indecisive about adding the third bracelet. I didn’t mind stomaching the one price increase, but a second one might be a deal breaker. I was going to get it as an anniversary/birthday present in the late spring.

I am hours from the store, so it’s not like I can pop in to try it on. I don’t know which size I even want.

Interesting to read trough here. A price in crease is "horrible"? Just lika a horrible wage increase?

Honestly, I did not expect an increase that soon but it all makes sense given that the latest was low to moderate and did not effect many pieces, e.g. all Loves and JUC w/ diamonds stayed the same. Frankly I want to see prices being the same forever, too (2 centuries ago prices at a restaurant were painted on the wall) but that is not the reality. Cartier =Richemont almost made a loss recently therefore they need to sth to get the stock price up again. I, too, was suffering as being a major stockholder.

Reports I hear from the boutiques indicate they are good in business these days. Looks like as people do not travel for leisure and stopped eating out, going to concerts and so forth they just have more money left to spend. Just look at the European savings rate. Makes all sense to me.

Oh dear, I did say that it was "horrible" in an earlier post. I think what I meant to say was that it wasn't a pleasant news to hear when you're someone planning on making a purchase in the middle of the year.

An increase in wage and increase in prices, depending on whose perspective you're viewing it from, both can either be a positive or negative thing (boss vs employee; owner of business vs consumers).

For lay consumers, a price increase is generally something we will usually whine about. Of course understanding that you're a major stockholder in the company, you'd wish for the company to resume making profits pre-COVID, and that is understandable.

I think it just depends on which pair of lenses you're viewing this price increase from.- a normal consumer, or a person who has interests tied to the profit and loss of the company.

But yes, i think we all understand why an increase in price is needed, given that the gold prices skyrocketed in 2020 due to COVID19. It was interesting to hear your point of view! Good to remember there is a diverse backgrounds of people on this forum! :hugs:

Good point and yes, I felt "horrible" when Cartier halved its dividend   (need to correct Richmont is a major stock position for me and - while not too insignificant - not major for Cartier).

Anyone familiar with the US forever-stamps? Why not introducing similar at Cartier? :flowers:

Just came into my mind that Cartier might use this *adaption* to correct for currency fluctuations. Happened in the past, too. So maybe no increase in Europe? Just speculation, dunno.

I’m going to assume you do not live in the US but Love did increase in October, not by much but still. We’ve also had such a demand for goods (not just luxury) so this unfortunately all makes too much sense.

I mean Cartier is not the only jewelry brand, so raising prices will always have that risk of pushing some casual customers away from Cartier to brands like Bulgari, Chopard, Chaumet or VCA and Tiffany. I doubt that people frequent Belperron will care about the prices increases on a Love bracelet that much, and die hard fan of Cartier will buy them anyway. Each group has their own opinions, but it is up to the audience to decide whose opinions weigh more.

I occasionally do live in the US albeit just part-time. The Love increase was not for every item afaik. Back then I wondered about the selective and almost insignificant increase - at least compared to other brands.
