I know people who sell them. The only way to tell the difference is to check the engraving number in the data base. But technically if you copy the number from your existing real thing, no one will ever know. Same is true with the handbags.Ah so you know people that have these super-fakes? How do you know they are fake when jewelry professionals can’t tell? Appreciate your insight as I’m looking preloved.
Oh wow! Just curious, how much would they sell a small love pave for? There’s no way materials and labor add up to $30k for these bracelets. This value gap is the reason I’m looking preloved. I’ve tried selling Tiffany’s before and have been lucky to get 50% retail (some jewellers offer me ‘scrap metal’ cost).I know people who sell them. I believe it’s about 4k. The materials in this bracelet cost only around 2k actually. Most of Cartier items cost at least 10x of materials used.Oh wow! Reg love weights about 30g, depending on size. 1g of 18k gold costs $60 today. It means that gold for this bracelet costs $1800. The retail price is 7350+tax. It’s at least 400%, not 20-25%.For the Reg Loves I once caclulated about 20 to 25 % depending on the gold price. Pavés of course are different - much more labor intensive, too.
I strongly feel like the design is iconic, and the intellectual property of Cartier. I think it’s perfectly appropriate to have a custom-designed Pave bracelet, but not one with screw motifs meant to be visually comparable to the Cartier Pave Love design. That being said, maybe you could do an all-Pave bracelet, or maybe have motifs that are different than screws, if you love stars or hearts etc., for example.Holy cow!! That’s a heck of a markup for branding. I was thinking 50%… now I feel like I’d be better off having a jeweller custom make a bracelet (no engravings of course). I can’t believe the price gap…. That’s insane.
