Cartier love bracelet resizing/reproduction options

Maybe the older screws do make a difference? I did a reproduction for a Love last year and they quoted me 30% with the $ amount quoted as well, but when it was completed it was 40%. I am in the USA, though the reproduction happened in France.
Mine is the newer model (2022), so I don’t think it has the older screws. I honestly would’ve been okay with 40%, but 60% feels quite steep.

Today I contacted Cartier in the US and Germany to clarify the price for reproducing a piece. In Germany, they told me that the reproduction cost is 60% of the item's price, and they also mentioned that this price is the same across all regions worldwide. However, in the US, I was told it's 40%. Meanwhile, the current price of the Cartier Love bracelet in Germany is €7,900. This is crazy.

I just approved the estimate to have mine reproduced in a larger size. I checked with customer service online first to be sure I understood the process. Then visited the boutique to drop it off and the official estimate came via email on Wednesday. It is indeed 30% of the current price to be paid at time of pickup.
Did they give you an estimate for how long it would take? I assume we all get the same timeframe but wanted to check!

They said about 20 weeks. I've seen similar here and that some people get them faster. Multiple items can come at different intervals but the store repair staff said they usually come close together. So we will see. I can track the repair online but thus far there isn't much information available (and I don't know how detailed the info is as it progresses).

Okay very weird update!! I dropped off 2 bracelets for reproduction and got an email that the plain love is ready. Which seemed weird- so I called the boutique. They said they have a new policy to offer a replacement/exchange in the new size at the 30% cost (provided you are not sentimentally attached to the serial number, which I'm not) so that one is ready! I had them check on my 4 diamond, and he said "that one looks like it's in France". So I guess I will get the plain back and wait on the 4 diamond (but who knows if this faster turnaround will happen for that one)? I'll update as I learn more!

Congrats!!
It’s actually not a new policy, sounds like your SA may have used the word 'new' a bit loosely lol. I mentioned this policy when I started this thread back in 2021. A few years ago, I even 'resized' my JUC ring this way—traded in the old one, paid 30%, and got a new one on the spot!

Aha yes I remember someone noting this before but I couldn’t remember how long ago and obviously since the information about cost seems to differ based on where you are, know Cartier could change things and then change them again!!! This is definitely easier than waiting!

That's really interesting! Would you mind sharing how exactly you arranged the exchange for your jewel back then? I'm just curious why Cartier doesn't mention this option right away. It seems like such a helpful policy, but not many people seem to know about it!

I'm not sure if you meant me or the person who commented that she had done this earlier in the thread? In my case, I reached out to the US customer service team via the website to ask about sizing (even though I'd read this thread before that). They indicated the process was a reproduction and then I went to the boutique and was told yes, it is a reproduction. The bracelets were then sent for an estimate. I approved this estimate. However, then I was alerted that one of my 2 bracelets was ready (only 2 weeks after dropping off) and when I inquired why so soon, they confirmed that clients have expressed that the reproduction process takes too long. And that if you aren't concerned about maintaining your original serial number, that they will do the exchange at the 30% price. So I went to the boutique to make my "exchange" and paid 30%. The funny part is that it was only for my plain love; the diamond one has been sent to France. I bought them both at the same time from the same store that is handling the "exchange". They are reaching out to see why it's different for that one so that part is to be continued.... (and won't be paid until it is done).

Thank you so much for the detailed reply! It just made me wonder if I can also ask Cartier directly about doing an exchange with the 30% fee instead of waiting months for a reproduction. I guess a lot depends on the region — it seems like things might be more complicated here in Europe compared to the US. But I’ll definitely try and see what happens.

Wow, you are so lucky you were offered this option, I mentioned to my SA and she said that option is not available. Only reproduction, that’s why it’s call reproduction. She quoted me 29 weeks min. And that’s not including 8 weeks I waited for a quote!

I was surprised too. I was fully expecting to wait the 6 months it was going to likely take. Obviously I wish the policy was more consistent. A reproduction for a piece or style they not longer offer makes sense. A current style seems to be easier to allow the exchange for the same cost. It’s also interesting to me that this was explained as something “new”. And it might be new at my boutique but has happened before based on this thread.

Now I am a bit upset and disappointed. I asked customer service online about this and was told it was not an option and that he did not know why other boutiques were offering this. I wished I was given this option as I had only had my bracelet for a couple of weeks and was not attached to the serial number! Wow. Hopefully Cartier can get on the same page with this.

I would also like more info on how you are able to track the status of your reproduction. I was not informed about this either.
