Wow, you are so lucky you were offered this option, I mentioned to my SA and she said that option is not available. Only reproduction, that’s why it’s call reproduction. She quoted me 29 weeks min. And that’s not including 8 weeks I waited for a quote!
Yes I had the same experience. I am so disappointed. I really wish I was given this option back when I dropped mine off. The whole experience has been very frustrating. I asked my SA and a customer service rep online and was told by both that this isn't offered. I made it clear that I would be interested since I didn't have my bracelet for very long.

Just wanted to add more to the conversation. I reached out to v customer service again and was told that the option to get a new bracelet instead of reproduction is a trial. I find that interesting since people in this thread have mentioned that the option was offered to them a few years ago. I was told that trhe workshop gets to decide who is eligible for this option.
 
Now I am a bit upset and disappointed. I asked customer service online about this and was told it was not an option and that he did not know why other boutiques were offering this. I wished I was given this option as I had only had my bracelet for a couple of weeks and was not attached to the serial number! Wow. Hopefully Cartier can get on the same page with this.

I would also like more info on how you are able to track the status of your reproduction. I was not informed about this either.
For the tracking- I received an email after I dropped everything off. There is a link in the email that says “follow my service” and when I click that it takes me to a page to sign in and I’m able to see my service orders. (I had previously registered for an online account when I bought a watch to activate the extended warranty.) After I log in I can search the service order number or use the menu to find them. It has limited information but it does have copies of each service order and says they are undergoing diagnosis if they are still in progress. It also shows if you’ve approved the estimate. I don’t know if the details are more the further along it goes?

It is absolutely disappointing that they are not consistent with the process. I don’t know why some are one way but others have it differently? But I saw you were told it is up to the workshop. Which may explain why my 4 diamond is still in the reproduction process.

Maybe it depends on spend history?
