Hi everyone. So I wanted to circle back on my non diamond white gold love bracelet. My original was a few years old, but when I had purchased it originally, Cartier was willing to rhodium plate it for me. That had been my plan with the new larger size. However, they have changed their policy just a month or so ago and the workshop will not do it anymore. They say they consider it an alteration. Ignoring for a moment that the service advisors did not know this when they took it in (in its brand new condition), would you trust an outside jeweler to do it? I have a great local jeweler who is happy to do it for a fee, I own several white gold and diamond bracelets made by them, but they cautioned against porosity. Obviously, if I'm going to do it, I want to have it done before I wear it. Part of the reason I bought the non diamond version initially was because Cartier was happy to rhodiumize it. And I do wear it with the diamond love and other rhodium white gold pieces. So I'm looking for input- many thanks!
