ok well if ANYONE gets something please let me know. =)
i called the chicago store today and they said if there was anything sent out i should've received it by now....which leads me to think there might have been something sent.
i kept pressing so she put me on hold to ask and came back to tell me there were no promotions at this time.
sounds fishy anyways hopefully some tpfer might have some news =)

I have gotten the $1000 off of $5000 purchase in the past, I believe it was in 2008 or maybe it was last year. I was upset I didn't receive one this year b/c I purchased the 4 diamond white gold Love Bangle so I felt that if there was a promotion I definitely deserved to be a part of it.

I called the Rodeo store in Beverly Hills today and the lady said yes, some were sent out, when I told her that I had not received one yet even after making a pretty big purchase a few months ago, she changed her story and said they were sent out last year and people were using them now. I corrected her and said the previous ones I have received had an expiration date that was within weeks of receiving the gift certificate, so she became flustered and said she wasn't sure, then said please hold and never came back and never transferred me. I waited over 10 mins and finally hung up because I knew they were avoiding me.

Something strange is going on for sure. I do believe that some gift certificates have been sent out and I do believe it has been sent out to only certain individuals, and not based on amount purchased either!

All I got this year was a box of CNY red envelops (which came in a very nice Cartier red box) and an invitation to a private party at the Royal Onatario Museum. I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't get any GC from them though. I was in the store 2 weeks ago but all SAs were too busy helping other ppl that I didn't have a chance to ask about the GC...

At least you got that much! :D After spending almost 10k on a love bracelet this past summer, I didn't get a thing from them for the holidays this year. Kinda disappointed in them!

I'm not Chinese and I don't really see what's wrong with Cartier targeting certain Chinese customers with their Chinese New Year promotions. I mean it is their new year after all and the people that celebrate it are Chinese. If Cartier opened up this promotion to everybody, I imagine that they'll lose more than they gain. I think it's smart marketing b/c gift giving is a big component of that celebration and these customers will be more enticed to buy even bigger ticket items due to the discount. Just saying.

Still, better than nothing :p. Did you end up going to the party?

I went to cartier boutique in bellevue last weekend.
SA said local cartier boutique is totally different system from online boutique, they send GC to their valued customers if customers keep making purchase in their local store.

I think that would be fair if they also did a promotion for the "american new year" with gift cards...why celebrate one and not the other?
