Can you wear a black purse in the Spring/Summer?

I tend to shy away from using my black purses in the summer. My warm-weather clothes are typically pastels or bright happy colors. I have lots of colorful purses to go along with those clothes, and so that is what I usually wear.
I live in the suburbs, and I am a SAHM so that could be partially responsible for my choices. I think, though, that if I lived in the city and worked in an office, I would probably be wearing more urban camoflage (i.e. black, tan, gray) and then in that case, my black bags would get more use in the summer.

I think it depends on the outfit. I wear black bags in the summer all the time, but I tend to stay away from black bags that are seem heavy or chunky ("wintery" if you will) especially when im wearing like... pink. But the fashion police have never come after me about it, so I think you're safe. Actually I often have a hard time committing to bright or light colored bags as I'm afraid I'll get them dirty too easily, so most of my bags are dark colored.
I live in the tropics so it's an endless summer and I wear black bags all the time and think they look fine

And yes, I wear black year-'round, although I do store away my heavier leather handbags for fall/winter.
