My 35 is born in Feb 06 - a baby still! I showed BF where to find their "birth certificate" and he said we should have a birthday party for them every year. LOL. Another excuse for good food.

I've never managed to find my date codes:sad2: . I've looked all over my Audra and my Shirley, but haven't found anything. I heard that sometimes they're actually in the seams so you can't find them. Is this true?

The MC date codes are difficult to locate and spot because they are generally in the seam of the alcantra lining. At least it is that way for the MC Speedy and Sologne.

OMG! My husband said the same thing!! hahaha

It's not a date code, it's an item (catalogue) number. If that is actually stamped inside the bag then the bag is fake. The seller may just be quoting the item number off of the bar code tag, though, assuming that they don't know what a date code really looks like, or they think it is some kind of serial number.

Sometimes those date codes are really hidden. I have yet to find the date code on my Porte Billets billfold. It must be tucked away in a seam somewhere, but I don't want to risk damaging the wallet trying to find it.

Yeah, sometimes you have to nearly mangle a wallet to find the date code. On the pocket agendas and agenda PMs (and many wallets) the date code is stamped along a seam about 1/4 inch from the opening of a side/flap pocket. You have to stretch out the pocket to see the code. :worried:

You are so right, I misread it:shame: :shame: . The seller clearly said it's the model no. Thanks. (you and jewelbear are assets to this forum)

The first two letters are the factory of origin. VI is for France, as is the older V.I. date code (with the periods).

The first and third number are month, the second and fourth are year. So VI0013 would be made in a French factory in 01/03 (Jan. 2003).

This is helpful to know in regards to authentication, such as all Cherry blossom pieces have a date code ending in 3 because they were all produced in 2003, etc...

thanks caannie! :D

the tab on my epi speedy says "Louis Vuitton, Made in France" but my date code starts with SP... so doesn't that mean it was made in the US? Do all tabs just say made in france, as in LV itself is made in France?
