The letters of the date code stand for the cities the factories are in. While they don't advertise what cities they're in for secuity reasons, you can find them on Vuitton.com. I posted them in another thread awhile back.

Of course, there were prefixes A0, A1, and A2 back in the early 90's... I bet they don't actually match up to any cities (at least not as abbreviations).
