Can you spot the difference? LV Clés Pouch Made in the USA vs France

I was completely unaware of this issue before I ordered the key pouch. I received mine in the mail not even an hour ago and I'm not pleased at all. The hardware is scratched to bits, the stitching is absolutely awful, and there are so many dents on the canvas. Does anyone have any tips on how to shop online...? There is no LV in my area and I'm just extremely disappointed by how little thought and time went in to the making of this piece but I would really like it in my collection.

Hi, I just got my monogram cles today, MIU, and definitely has light peeking through the bottom with some exposed stitching. Not super happy with it, but I’m more curious about if this affects long term quality and longevity.
To those who have kept their cles with exposed stitching/ see through bottoms, how have they held up?

I’ve only had mine for about a year or two. I didn’t have any issues with it but I haven’t used it since the beginning of the pandemic so I can’t really give any input regarding long term. However, should you have any issues I’m sure they will repair it at no cost. The key clip broke off mine and they repaired it at the store the same day.

Just returned my made in USA monogram key pouch, it looked just like yours! Dents, uneven wobbly sides, exposed seams. It’s a hard to find item so I thought I’d live with it but I got lucky and bought a Damier Ebene one online that was made in France and was perfect! I returned the monogram one immediately. A ridiculous difference in quality.

My MIU key pouch is like yours too, I can see lights from inside, uneven stitching, dull canvas. But it was purchased in 2018 when I was new to LV world. Too late to find the issue.

Oh this thread is back! LV doesn’t give the key pouch a second thought. They could be made with Helen Keller as their artisan and sell out the same day regardless. This is not a focused piece whatsoever. These complaints are Falling on deaf ears…
What a shame. For the price they're charging, shouldn't we expect a little bit of quality? I wouldn't accept it and I didn't. I returned 3 terrible ones and my SA let me know when she had a decent one. If they don't care at all, people need to stop buying these overpriced, too small to be useful, POS!

You’re so right. I think they know this piece is always going to sell and is a “simpler” piece so they let a bunch of sub-par pieces circulate. I read a WSJ article that said the USA factory hires artisans with NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED and uses assembly line production

n know if there’s a way to complain to Louis Vuitton about the warehouse in America? It’s really a shame that the Louis Vuitton products made here is crappy quality considering how much money you’re paying to have it

Their not much requirements to work to assemble LV good in Europe either…LV doesn’t put much respect in French factory workers. Especially if most are now on strike demanding better pay, work conditions.

Absolutely shocking how poorly these are now being churned out; even at a fraction of the current price it would be ludicrous. Sadly, as long as people are willing to fork out what they’re asking for them, prices will continue to rise while quality declines. A real shame. So glad that I’m content with my clés collection — unless I find any pre-loved ones I’ve missed, looks like it’s complete!
