I had my SA hunt down two MIF pochette cles. The monogram one has a little dent but overall looks better if you don’t touch the sides. The DE has one side that has a fatter bottom. I remember the MIF overall has better quality but it also doesn’t mean they are “good.”
After reading all these posts I decided to buy mine last week on a trip to Europe. After stalking 5 different stores in 3 countries I finally found one in Amsterdam and it is made in France but I am so disappointed. Mine is made Aug 2018. The canvas is so rough and dry.. very unlike my other LVs that I bought in 2015 (my hand doesnt even want to touch it anymore lol). When the SA bought it out and I had a feel I was so shocked but he said it was normal and LV has the highest quality etc. There was no other to compare it to. I thought it was in my head and didnt want to start feeling all the items with canvas so I bought it but it just didn't feel right. I'm now back in Canada and with no LV store in my city I'm pretty stuck. I called client services and asked if I order another one in Canada can I get a MIF and they told me all SLGs are made in Europe(?!). You can see in the picture that the key pouch is not shiny at all and therefore very rough. After reading all the posts, I'm thinking maybe it is normal? But I don't think having a MIF makes a big difference anymore. I'll be calling my Canadian SA tomorrow to ask her what the deal is.

Nono I agree it looks good. No stitching issues etc. it's more the feel of the canvas. Not too sure how to explain but I did ask a few friends for their opinion and they said it felt weird - very rough and dry vs the other that's more smooth and nicer to touch.
Have you tried some leather lotion? Most canvas get shinier with use. At least that’s the case for me. The shape is a lot better than the MIF that I got...the two MIF that I got lol
No I haven't because I'm considering returning it. Will it help with the smoothness? I was joking with my friends that it's so rough I could grate cheese on it lol
Aww man that sucks about the weird shapes you got. Tbh the more pics I look at the more confused I am about the actual shape it's supposed to be. I'm not unhappy about the shape of mine but I thought the sides would go straight up? As in top width same as bottom width.
That’s how it supposed to be but I would say that I looked at 6/7 and the two that I got were the “best ones” but still one has a that is bulging out and the other side slanted. The one that my mom got has a bump on the side that isn’t noticeable until you touch it then you feel the indent.
Np! I know it isn’t up to your expectations but...a lot of LV stuff just isn’t what it was...I still buy them because I still like some of the styles and the quality isn’t terrible. Yours looks quite symmetrical and good in general. Ultimately, it is your decision, I just don’t know if you would get a better one.Thanks for the reassurance
I just got one in azur and mine looks fine. I saw the post with the mono that was crooked and stitches showing. You really have to look everything over. I saw two azur today and on if the. In the white square had a random blue stitch lol of course I didn’t buy that one ha!
Thanks your comment! I've decided its too much effort to go exchange.. so hopefully it will get smoother with use! Maybe in the future if I have a chance to go to a store I'll get a chance to compare to another one.
I got 5 SLGs in September. I realized comparing them to my old Louis Vuitton products that the new monogram canvas is quite matte. But I love all my purchases, and have a feeling that they will "shine" after much use.
I had to return 2 mono key pouches last year (bought online with no store in my state so exchanging was a hassle...the wait time that is). The one I kept is like one person said several comments ago...one side straight and the other side more rounded but alignment and stitching was perfect. I kept the 2nd of 3 I tried. All MIU too (my only MIU item). The canvas is more matte but does get shinier with use. When it is time to replace, I will go to a store so I can compare. Never had an issue with any MIF pieces before...all were and have been perfect but my collection is small and I only have DE pieces. You can search for my previous posts to see the pics.
