thats the one I meant, the leather satchel co - not retrosatchels....

I agree with pye128 - from what I've been reading this design has been around for a long time. It might've been Cambridge that made their choice of colors make it to the runway and the it bag of this year but the basic design in basic colors like brown and black has been around for a while.

I think they were very careful not to name the company because I think it is still being litigated, and I agree, the overall design is very standard, but the one that is being copied so much now is based on the Cambridge twist on the traditional English satchel. Just like Proenza Schouler did their own twist on the satchel style and many people copied it but most of those replications looked far different in terms of details and leather.

I think some of the other companies provide some nice alternatives in terms of color and sizes and such. I'm not saying those companies don't have a right to sell these alternatives; I'm just empathizing as a business owner what it must be like to have that happen.

And I don't think they meant to take your quote out of context but I can see how that would be upsetting. I hate it when that happens.

CSC lady finally emailed me back and said that I should return the bag for them to 'have a look' although didn't promise anything. I emailed back to say that I had been told that because it was a clearance bag I was told that it couldn't be replaced, and that I would be more than happy to take detailed photos for her but wouldn't be paying out of my own pocket to send it back especially when royal mail only covers up to £46.

And I think it was this thread that suggested the Cambridge satchel co were providing them (or I thought this was the thread where people had been discussing that) The previous poster is just clarifying that it's not the Cambridge satchel co that bohemia are referring to that make these for them.

I just purchased a red batchel from CSC, and a marine 15" and matching iPad cover from Bohemia, and you can feel the difference in the leather, so they definitely aren't coming from the same supplier (at least in terms of materials).

I believe bohemia get theirs manufactured by The Leather Satchel Company in Liverpool, who have apparently been going since the 60's, although Im not so sure. I know the tannery where CSC buy their leather and it is by far the best full grain leather available in the world. It's clear that CSC are the highest quality on the market.

I know they're not the same thing or made by the same place I've never said they were. I said I'd seen references to them being made by the same company in the thread somewhere which is why I assumed the person was clearing that up.
Just wanted to clear that up since I've been quoted twice now to clarify the same point I had been making :)

I just ordered a classic Pink one from CSC with my initials embossed... Now, the hard part is the waiting! :pout: I already have a Neon Pink one from Bohemia but I really wanted the embossing, so I just couldn't resist! I have been carrying my Neon Pink one and it definitely gets attention!! Love it!
