Soooo for everyone who's been reading about my Bohemia satchel dilemma you'll know that I recently returned the caramel satchel that turned out to be faulty and was waiting for my fluro yellow replacement in the 14 inch. Well, at this point I thought the package was lost and was already asking for a refund when today the package arrives after close to 2 weeks!! It normally take 4 tops so not sure what happended this time  I the midst of all this I had gone to Bloomies and had (just the other day) found the fluro yellow Cambridge on sale for $99 in the 11" so I grabbed it but because it was pre-sale I have to wait until 5/9 to pick it up..soooo now that my Bohemia has come in and I just don't want to deal with returning it I decided to exchange the Bloomies bag for the blue...not sure the name of the blue (maybe oxford blue)? But I was able to get the SA to honor all the discounts I had gotten the other day because apparently that sale was only that day and today the bag was back up to $155 but as always I get my way and she honored it :cool: Soo wanted to share pics of my yellow one which is the 14" from Bohemia and here she is...will post pics of the blue one next week when I pick it up :D

Here is a sneak peak at the color of the Cambridge blue I exchanged at Bloomies...I don't see it on their site but I think I've seen it online when they had them. Here is the pic user Gomy posted earlier in this thread and the color is almost identical...

Does anyone know where I can buy a red batchel (satchel with top handle) in the US? Thanks so much!

Batchels are really hard to find from a reputable company anywhere in the world. Most outside stockists only have the normal satchels. I don't think I've ever seen a batchel in a store. They are also more expensive which doesn't change depending on where you get it from so I would just recommend getting it direct from CSC website.

The brown one I almost got had scratches on the back of it so I figured it wouldn't be as bad but I got so distracted with my other purchases over the past weekend (gold Cambridge from Bendels') that I forgot all about it. I just got the neon yellow today so I don't know when I'll get the brown :graucho:

I ended up ordered from their website for the neon pink 13'' with a engrave. Because I went to the store and tried on both size. and the 13'' is more towards a everyday bag. So I decided to order them online (and since it's 30 days to wait, so why not just add the engrave) :p but I def would get one in 11'' or maybe another 13'', before they bump up the price or outsource to somewhere else instead of made in UK.

fyi, LOVE your new bag, gorgeous color! :graucho:

Thanks Sammi! Can't wait to see your new satchel

Yayyyy my pink satchel has arrived! Unfortunately does have slightly more faults than described, slight cracking on not just RH side but LH as well, and also two of the holes on the shoulder strap for adjustment are only half punched. Have sent an email and will see if I get a reply. I'm absolutely in love with the bag though. Colour seems like none of the pictures online which make it look dull or more of a 'baby pink'. Much more of a bubblegum pink IMO. Just happens that my day-to-day bag had a nail polish explosion today so new pink bag will get an outing tomorrow. Will post pictures before I leave for work.

Also, with regards to what TejasMama said, I have a very old (year and a half probably) black 15" batchel I would be more than happy explaining its condition with photos after a lot of (probably too heavy) use. The review in the link is, IMO, very accurate. My leather has however, softened up a lot more with use and seems very very soft in comparison with my brand new satchel. Mine also hasn't got much of the shiny coating left on the underside of the strap and the inside of the bag, it looks more like regular suede now.

hey girls, i've been considering getting a batchel but i've seen some reviews online that say the colour runs - is that true? Also just want an opinion - red or yellow? red seems more classic but yellow is bolder so i can't quite decide! gonna use it for school - laptop and stuff :)

Not sure but probably with certain colors, especially red. I'm selling my Bohemia batchel in the burnt orange. I've got way too many of these satchels now and since I'm petite the 15" batchel needs to find a new home :p I haven't worn it more than once but with that color I didn't experience any color transfer.

I work with the Cambridge Satchel Company and I wanted to let you know that the satchels from Bohemia are not from The Cambridge Satchel Company. All of the authentic Cambridge Satchels have the bicycle logo embossed on the bag. To insure you get the original and iconic Cambridge Satchel, go to an authorized stockiest (like Bloomingdales) or visit www.cambridgesatchel.com

Thanks but I am completely aware of this! I never said Bohemia and Cambridge were one in the same. All of my Cambridge satchels have the logo and Bohemia stamps their bags with their own logo so not sure what your point is?

I imagine they're just clearing that up because Bohemia say on their site:

Bohemia's satchels have been handmade in the UK by a family run company since the 1960's. Using traditions that come from experienced craftsmanship and finest quality leather work, these skills have been passed down from generation to generation.

And I think it was this thread that suggested the Cambridge satchel co were providing them (or I thought this was the thread where people had been discussing that) The previous poster is just clarifying that it's not the Cambridge satchel co that bohemia are referring to that make these for them.
That's what I am getting from the post anyway.

I read too, and I think it was in this thread but please don't quote me, something about retro satchels being the ones who makes these satchels for others co's. I was just confused as to why this person from Cambridge was taking my quote re my last experience with Bohemia and my latest Cambridge acquisitions to make this point. I'm sure someone stole the design from someone and I too would be upset but these things are so hard to control.

Quote from their website:
"We are located in the North-west of England, outside Chester in the county of Cheshire, and we also now have an additonal workshop based in Knowsley near Liverpool, the hometown of The Beatles. We are company of trades people who skillfully and lovingly create handcrafted satchels. We've been making handbags, instrument and doctors cases and our quintesentially british satchels since the late 1960s."

I haven't ordered yet, but they are very nice to work with and sent me free samples. I have no affiliation with this company.

I don't know how some company stole a design from The Cambridge Satchel Co. when this design has been made by other, older companies for over 40 years. It's easy to find out which UK company The Cambridge Satchel Co. is litigating for design infringement (and other issues), the legal articles about the suit are on the web. And it's not Retro Satchels, Bohemia or the company I mentioned above.
