Please look at my black work just want reassurence:
2008 3 132110 D94JT 321
(it's 2008 f/w) but wanted to double check the color
and it's a J in D94JT

Agneau.Pleine Fleur

(I just found the price tag inside it says black ::smile:)

this bag is amazingly dark dark dark black. I picked him out of 3 other black bags(that had just made their debut onto the floor, timing is everything)) and it was so noticible of a difference that this one stood out by a mile just waiting for me to nab him:yahoo:
i bought these in may and june/08 (sahara city & black city)

i would also like to mention that on the second one (the black city with RH) I am not sure what kind of regular hardware this is....either raised brass or raised pewter...the color is a led color like a pencil, and it is trying to match the bags color and in this case black

Also something interesting I found to be at least, even though both my babies are City's they both have different looking mirrors. On the Giant City bag there is an extra little flap on the back. My R/H City's mirror is just plain flat leather.
Also I found there to be an extra piece of leather on the Giant City's inside zippered pocket at the top when it is unzipped, and the R/H City does not have this.I am wondering if this is normal and can someone chime in who can give some advise. Maybe these features got changed in the 2008 season 3 F/W bags or maybe this is just a couple more differences between The Giant Hardware bags and the Regular Hardware bags. Either way can some one knowledgeable about this, please let me know.

hi! i just got my new-to-me LE magenta city with GSH. i had it "authenticated" by the owner/manager of our Bal store. i had the same dilemma as you so i compared my tags at home. here they are:

magenta city with GSH 2008 1 173084 D941N 1215
so 2008 = year
1 = S/S collection
173084 = new batch of city (new leather??)
D941N = giant silver hardware

sapin green city w/ RH 2006 3 115748 D941T 229
2006 = year
3 = F/W
115748 = old city
D941T = RH

the new magenta city has that strip of leather in the inside pocket. i havent seen any photos taken of this leather strip even at let-trade probably to avoid counterfeiters from copying this. also, the handles of the new city has 2 strips of leather braided on it. the old city has only one. the pockets are also gusseted(sewn on the sides and bottom)

both mirrors were of the same size with the leather pocket at the back. i think your new city is F/W 08 so there were a few variations on this - no gussets on the pocket, no leather strip at the back of the mirror. hope this helps. ;)

I have a very dark city, according to the color reference thread, it should be an INK city, but it looks black. I don't seem to see the purplish color of ink.

I bought a few Mini Coin Purses this month and they look gorgerous and soft. :yahoo:But when i examined the tag with each CP, it didn't stated its color.

Instead the number are 2008 3 130783 D940T with

ARGENT: 638

CHARBON: 637

SADDLE: 410

Does the last set of number indicate the color? if so, anywhere i can find out more codes? i have a search on library section but with no lucks. :confused1:

Can someone tell me what color my bag is and more about my bag? I just bought a city from a reputable seller and she said it's black but it looks more charcoal-ish to me. The paper tag reads:

2008 1 115748 D941T 1435

The silver tag inside the bag reads:
N 5386 T

Missyanne, my bag looks like charcoal too and I was hoping someone could tell me what my tag says it is. This is more confusing than ever, because if our bags both look charcoal, (even if they are supposed to be black), why wouldn't the numbers be alike if the color is shown in a number?? I don't mean all the numbers, just the last severl numbers. Maybe the numbers on the paper tag don't show the color at all!!!

I do know that your bag is from the 08 Spring/Summer collection, and the 115748 is for the City style. I don't know what D941T and 1435 mean.

HELP someone!!

i just bought my first bbag from the georgeV store in paris :d. a bit ticked off that they claim that their store doesnt have the tags.. what a load of bull! is there any way i can figure out the year, what leather etc?

I have three bags, one black 2005 city, a 2006 first, and a 2007 city.

I checked all three and all I can find is that my two white bags are just called "white", but the first appears more cream or off-white to me. My black bag is just black. Any help please on what white bags I have? :confused1:

As far as I know, those last few numbers have yet to be deciphered. On this thread and elsewhere here on tPF, there have been efforts to tie them to the bag's color, but so far these have not panned out.

Those last numbers are a mystery still. The color of each bag needs to be decided by the season letter on silver tags, or if no silver tag, the date card from Balenciaga.
It would be a great help in authenticating if the color could be reliably coded. :confused1:
