Well you can request anything you like, but I have the impression that they offer popular items to the buyer with the highest offer, and go down the list from there.
They typically just send you an email saying that they have sourced XXX on your wish list and that they will list it for $XXX if you decide not to purchase it. Basically, it’s just a chance to purchase before something goes on the website since hard to find items are sold so quickly sometimes.
I think they did smart thing to offer special services such as that, otherwise what’s the incentive to buy from them especially since they shortened return window to 15 day counted from the day of order plus charges $15 for return shipping.

It probably also saves them money because then they do not have to photograph the item and put it on the website. It is also a guaranteed immediate sale.
I think it also helps them to give a competitive price to the seller, because they will let you know they have located an item and ask how much you will pay for it, and then sometimes there are negotiations back-and-forth since some sellers are only interested in a very premium price.

Yes, this is true. I have not had any experience with discounts, but they have a personal shopping service once you have spent enough. You can just tell them what you’re looking for and they will try to source it for you and it will never go up on the website. They ask what you want and how much are willing to pay for it.
Thank you! Interesting they allow us to state what we are willing to pay..

Indeed! If you are requesting an item that was previously sold from their website, in the past they would just use that price, but the last time I did that the price was 1K higher than the last time they had it on the website ($13k—> $14k). This was just recently. I declined this one, and she asked me to refresh my wish list. When I sent it over she asked for my offering price for everything on my wishlist to send over to their procurement team.

This is so insightful. Do you recall how long it took them to source the item after you provided them your wishlist? This could be a very handy service for the holidays 🙊

Yes, it was about 6-7 months! However, it was a very specific piece of jewelry. When she emailed me back asking for an update on my wish list about five minutes after I declined it, she mentioned it was already sold to the next person in line.

For 2 days now they haven't listed anything but are running a 10% sale. Anyone else notice this?
They are listing new items. I know that for awhile all the listings were stuck on best value and so it looked like nothing was being added. Additionally, their 10% off sale doesn’t apply to a lot of bags. I’ve noticed a lot of Chanel and LV bags are excluded from their sale.

That's it -- it's defaulting to best value. Thank you. (and of course the item I was looking at is excluded)

I was told at the flagship that anyone can do this. You have to commit to buy the item, but they'll source anything for you. I was looking for a 15cm Kelly in specific specs and they said they could find one (this bit may have been them fronting haha).

That is great news! I only found out about it accidentally. I think they can probably source anything for a price!
