Sorry you had this anxiety producing experience. It is very strange. I've had nothing but good experiences with them. I've only purchased through them, not consigned, because they seem to lowball offers. I've returned three bags - Hermes, Goyard and Dior - with no issues and gotten prompt refunds, but I'll admit I'm a little nervous until I get their email saying they've received the return and are processing the refund.
Yes, I have no clue why they handled my case this way. It’s mind boggling. Totally unprofessional and quite honestly, criminal IMO. You’d think I was dealing with an eBay scammer!!

This is shocking customer service from such a huge company. So happy you got your refund! It must have felt like such a win for you after they denied it. Thank god you paid through PayPal! I'd never shop with FP again if I were you. :confused1:
Thank you so much!!! Yes. I think they thought I would just “go away” if they ignored me enough. Not this chick! Work too darn hard for my pennies to let it go like that without a fight! Yes… def will always use PayPal where I can!!!

I’ve never purchased from them but I have just heard story after story that suggests that they are woefully disorganized and their knee jerk reaction is to immediately blame the client and go nuclear.

Such a terrible business model.
It’s bound to catch up with them at some point, at least I hope it does. We as the consumer definitely need to get the word out. That’s the only power we have… power in numbers in spreading the word!!

So glad you got your money back! Sounds like a nightmare.

I've bought pre-loved almost exclusively from Fashionphile up to 2018. I've always had consistent great customer service for sales and returns.
However, when I stopped buying in 2019 (due to the rise in prices), I've started to hear more of these type of stories on their lacking customer service.
Disappointing to say the least. :-s

I felt the need to share my recent experience with FP. After consigning almost $20k of my merchandise with them, I finally made my first purchase with them at the end of July. It was a “New” Chanel metallic gold square mini flap. When I received it, I immediately noticed the symmetry of the quilting and the structure was all off. On top of that, the retail tag attached said made in Italy, while the bag itself said made in France. I immediately packaged her up and returned her the next morning with the UPS label which was generated through the Fashionphile website in my account while processing my return of the item. Two days later, I tracked the package and saw that it was delivered and signed for. I heard nothing or saw nothing on my Fashionphile account regarding the return weeks later, so I contacted them. They said that they would open a UPS investigation and follow up with me, but asked for me to wait and give them an entire month. One whole month while they held over 4K of my money! Fast forward to this past week, I received an email from them saying that they were denying my refund, and that they felt it was in their best interest to deactivate my account. I was utterly shocked! They gave me no explanation whatsoever and refused to share any of the information with regards to the UPS investigation.
Due to shut doors through Fashionphile, I reached out to UPS to try to find more answers as to whatever happened to the package. They in return got back to me saying that they could not disclose any information since fashionphile was the account holder. Therefore, they redirected me to Fashionphile to ask for the results of the investigation. I again made several attempts to reach out to Fashionphile only to be told that the case was closed.
Today, after over a month of having my money held by Fashionphile, I received the best news ever from PayPal that they investigated my case, and ruled in my favor. I will be receiving my refund from Fashionphile! I literally cried!!! Finally, an end to this nightmare!!
I felt the need to share my story to warn others. I would never wish this upon my worst enemy. Please spread the word around so that this does not happen to you or anyone else! Make sure to document every single thing if you are ever processing a return with fashionphile. UPS said that merchants have been known to receive refunds from UPS, while holding onto customer’s money. I have no clue as to what happened in my instance, but I’m just so grateful that honesty in the end prevailed and that they couldn’t bully me into giving up and not fighting for my money!!! Shame on them!!! View attachment 5181631

I'm so glad this was resolved in your favor. I had a bad experience with them years back, and decided to never deal with them again. There are quite of few threads here regarding customers being treated unprofessionally by both Fashionphile and The RealReal. Both seem to be very popular platforms, but from my perspective it's buyer and seller beware, and I avoid both.

Perhaps they grew wayyy too fast. But it’s still no excuse for how they handled my situation. They should take some of the profit they’re making from marking up their items and put that towards hiring man power!

That is terrible. I too have dealt with them for years and never had a problem? I am always careful to get a receipt from UPS, track it and check with them to be sure they got the package. How strange that you had proof of the delivery and they refused. Thank goodness you used PayPal. I always do because I have had a couple of experiences where they got my money back.
