If you listed in your auction about buyer having to pay custom charge then they should pay but if you didnt then you should pay
Well, my listing did specify that all customs charges are the responsiblity of the buyer, and that all customs forms would be marked with the full value of the item. Even if I failed to specify that, however, *bay's policy for international shipment states the following:

Customs is a government agency responsible for regulating shipments entering a country or region. All shipments being sent to and from a country or region must clear customs first. The seller needs to provide the correct documentation so that your item won't be held indefinitely by customs. Be prepared to pay fees for customs and/or duties. It is against the law to ask your seller to mark an international product as a gift or for a lesser value.

The seller is never responsible for customs duties. They are always the sole responsibility of the buyer.

Sorry thats wrong, its totally buyers responsability.....i did not know you had to pay customs in the UK for used bags. So why would a seller know, if i did not know my own custom rules....I do now.

I recently had a buyer just refused the package and sent back to me. I refunded her minus shipping and now today she opened a buyer's dispute claiming she never received tha package.

Unfortunately with paypal, you never know what can happen. If she doesn't accept the package and is returned to you, you may have a similar situation like me.

why dont you get his details from ebay and forward his emails to customs and file an official complaint with them? im sure theyd love to hear about the $3800 trunk he bought and didnt pay customs on...

^ good one Expat!

Amour,

It is incumbent upon you to take umbrage at the mere
suggestion of you lacking the mental capabilities hitherto
obtained through years of devotedness to academia which
makes you bereft of any trace of incognizance or puerile
tendencies and which impels you to follow a modicum of
gentility that beseems a intellective such as yourself.

Crap. I think I just pulled a muscle, or something, in my head...
I can't see very well...and there's a strange, pinkish, slimy mass
oozing out of one of my ears...I think I blew a fuse up there...

My reply:

It is incumbent upon me as reader of this communique to take umbrage at the imposition it has inflicted on me, which has bereft me of my senses, hitherto maintained by strict adherence to a modicum of civility that beseems a (bag)lady such as myself.

Ya think? Any idea how I would do this? I assume I'd need to report to UK Customs, rather than US, right?

I've already reported him to *bay under the illegal activities section. Actually, I did it twice - once with the first email that asked me to reship the package marked gift & $50 and once with the email about the $3800 truck he didn't pay duties on. Not that they'll do anything about it ....
