May I ask you about the colours?
When I google some pics, stone seem sto be very light (nearly whitish) but could be just the pics. So would you say stone is much lighter than honey?

I really don't know. It was only when I put them side by side for the photo that I realised they were different.

My thoughts - they keep you dry, they are quite warm and mine have lasted 40 years! The initial purchase cost was high but I have got my moneys worth out of them. I didn't buy mine as a fashion item, it was raining and cold, and I was very cashed up from a contract in the middle east.

The poster who mentioned second hand value - I have never thought about that or looked into it. Why would anyone sell their raincoat.

The real irony is I have a beautiful navy blue Austin Reed trench coat that I prefer over my Burberrys. It attracts less attention....

Do you think 29.5 inches is a shorter length?

would it look good for someone who stands 5 foot tall?
I think that’s a short one? The Burberry website says mid length on a UK 8 is 37.4in. mine is size 8, soooo that’s what 37.4 inches look like on someone only 4 inches taller. You could get either the much shorter 26in one or if you get my length you probably have to make sure it’s the Chelsea fit, because a longer loose coat would probably not look super great unless you are going for the 90s oversized vibe (then make it super oversized!)

I bought a Burberry trench coat recently via online (sale item). The length is a bit too long for my liking. However, to my surprise, the staff at the burberry boutique told me that I can bring my trench coat there for a free alteration.
That is a very nice gesture or after sales service!

That is so good to know as I may be buying one elsewhere! (The boutique doesn't have all the styles.)

I love my Burberry to pieces. I’ve got it on Christmas sale 2 years ago and right away sent it for tailoring the sleeve length. It came out perfectly fine. The quality is impeccable. And the color is GORGEOUS: it changes depending on light: green, purple, brown. Below I’m attaching the photo of it from website as my photos are mainly made at night (not a big fan of taking selfies). Since I’m only 5’3’’ it looks longer on me:-)

Exactly!!! I really don’t get the “resell” trend. Why on Earth would one buy something with idea of reselling it in the future. Especially clothing. Second hand is second hand after all, and I personally would rather wear brand new cloth from Rainbow store rather a high end second hand. Ewwww, so not hygienic!

Went to the Burberry standalone boutique in Soho today and tried on some coats. I’m on the fence about this one. The pictures were taken after their lovely in-house tailor Jing pinned it up to a 32” length, which is what we’d tailor it to. (My perfect length would be closer to 30” but this doesn’t look bad). It’s the Kensington mid in navy in US 0.

The reasons why I’m on the fence:
  • Navy is my second choice color; first choice is dark pink. And although they don’t make pink right now I think I can find one out there if I try hard enough. Let me know if you see one.
  • It’s full MSRP ($1990) and the best deal I can find is that price then $160 off (Amex offer) and also 1% back (******) on Farfetch. If I want to go this route I have to act STAT as the order needs to ship today for the offer to work. I could buy, hold off on altering, and return if need be I guess??
  • I could wait until my road trip on Nov 1-5 to check out the selection at the Burberry Outlet at Woodbury Commons, but then I would’ve lose the opportunity to wear it all October :( CB460C5A-DAFD-4857-8080-32D3D1DAF498.jpeg0714EB57-2E95-4EAF-A418-255AD7E8C4B6.jpeg

Actually, this is not true across the board, or maybe they changed their policy. I asked my SA at Burberry Soho if I could do this (bring a coat bought elsewhere in for alteration) because it was cheaper on Farfetch, and she said it would incur a $100 fee.

This coat and length look great on you, better than the website pictures to be honest.

I recently purchased the Burberry Chelsea trench coat in dark navy. I love it. The price tag is hefty, but I am sure I’ll have it for years to come. Not too sure about the Kensington. If you want a slimmer fit, Chelsea may be better.
