Brands you don't like/don't buy from/find personally to be overrated?

Don’t like:
• Michael Kors
• Betsey Johnson
• Massacessi (I believed I spelt that wrong)
• Burberry
• Kate Spade
• Chanel
• Stella McCartney (too pricey for non-leather)
• Dooney and Bourke
• Tory Burch
• Rebecca Minkoff (bad quality items and even worse customer service).
• Louis Vuitton
• Hermes

I am sure there are more, but that’s all I can think of right now.
What do you not like about Dooney and Bourke?

I don't shop fast fashion, never have. It's easy for me to resist it. Plus, looking at what goes on behind the fast fashion industry is sad, so that makes me dislike it even more.
Same! When I educated myself about it, it was the obvious choice. Same could be said for handbags too honestly, which is why I try not to avoid cheap bags as well.

I find it very difficult to write off entire brands because often times you might find an unexpected item while browsing so I’ll give every store the benefit of the doubt. Plus it’s fun to be surprised!

I had previously written off both Chanel and Coach and just this year I purchased items from both stores, whereas in the past I loved Louis Vuitton and Gucci but have drifted away since the designers were replaced.

Moreover, a brand’s aesthetic is fluid overtime and can change drastically with a new designer.

Therefore a brand that you wrote off today might be a favourite tomorrow! Since Christopher Bailey left Burberry I don’t have a clue what has happened to their once sophisticated runway line.

Wise words!

I caught myself liking a dress in Tory Burch's window the other day. I was shocked because I normally wince.

I can also usually see the merit in most clothing ranges even if I wouldn't wear it myself.

but

I don't see the appeal of Zadig & Voltaire, it's like Zara Basics at 20 x the price.
Come to think f it, Zara for their dubious politics and policies.
Abacrombie Fitch. Guys, you have been duped. And give back Savile Row (London) to the makers of real men's clothes.
Victoria Secret. Hideous and hideous quality underwear. There is so much better out there. VS is Disney for adults.

Isabel Marant. How long can she raid her youth for ideas? And stop naming everything.
Vetements. How long can Demna Gvasalia raid his mother's wardrobe? Not a new or idea in sight. The joke is def on us.
Victoria Beckham, its a brand with no soul. Just redesigning your competitor's best sellers is not creative.

Send all your unwanted Chanel suits ad vintage Gucci my way. There's a reason some clothing holds its value.

I don't think I could write off a brand just because I think some of their designs are ugly.

Come to think of it, when I was a lot younger, I wouldn't even think of buying anything Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, or Hermés. I thought of them as things of "old rich ladies" or "grandma" types.

But look at me now! I have at least one item from those brands ( still find some LV designs ugly, though). My taste and fashion sense changed.

What I won't buy: Abercrombie, Supreme, LuLaRoe
Reason: Streetwear and patterned leggings are Just not my style.

I’m laughing at the VS is Disney for adults!

I never say never, but I don't really get the fast fashion thing at all. I have a few things still from Forever 21 about 15 years ago, even then it wasn't great but they had some cute things, but I really don't see anything when I go in there now and the quality seems even worse. Unfortunately I had to get rid of some F21 clothing I liked because it fell apart; I don't buy expensive things by any means but I never really have this issue with department store clothing or even Kohls. I never see anything in Zara or H&M, to me the prices seem high for what the item is. I look at Target every once in awhile and never see anything there either.

I actually do like chanel, or most of their bags, because the logo tends to be small and not obnxious. I wouldn't buy any of the styles with the huge cc's, and agree that much of their clothing and shoes are old-looking. I also like the Valentino rockstud styles because it is a brand signature design without being an obvious in your face logo.

I agree, logos are OK if they're just carefully worked initials of the brand (LV's print is absolutely traditional, I see it as a pattern on luggage, YSL has the beautiful Cassandre logo that's so elegant and Paolo Gucci;s GG print is so naughty and clever, their GG Interlocking is a design classic too). I prefer those to the entire name written on the sides of the bag, however small (or large).

I totally agree with you on Victoria Secret. All their stuff is cheap and tacky looking. The brand is just very good at marketing. Their stuff is sh1t!
