wow great to know! I got all the boxes from Sak and NM and other boutique stand alone except this 57th street one I find it so weird. Because they had the boxes stocked up during summer and not sure why they couldn't give me and when I asked my SA kept saying Corporate will send ...

that is very strange...although lately Chanel has been all over the place with their rules, so who knows.
 
Help! I just talked to the store manager and she said the small box sent (they call "80") was a perfect size for a medium flap. I have always received the bigger box for all of my medium flaps as shown below. What size of a box did you get for your medium classic flap?

I am more concerned about that black tissue paper on your pink bag. It should be white tissue paper to avoid color transfer.

I was just told by a SA at Chanel Saks in Michigan that they are no longer giving boxes with any handbags starting Jan 2022. She was told for "environmental reasons". She said it'll come with dustbag and everything else but no box. She said they are telling their clients now to lessen the shock when it does happen. She told me in person while I was in the store. I asked another SA in Chanel Nordstrom and she didn't hear anything yet.

Wow. If this turns out to be new Chanel policy. Talk about a non luxury experience. Isn't that part of the fun.....the unboxing
 
Hello anyone still have not gotten boxes from 57th Location in NYC Chanel Boutique stand alone?
I am still missing and I bought bags in March 2021. My Sa said corporate will send but still nothing and I asked again they are short of boxes again T_T Could anyone please help you have any suggestion?
Good question - I am waiting on two boxes from two diff SAs at department stores in the area and I’ve just about given up. They kept telling me they’d send them to me (because they had them again) but never did. I don’t want to harass them about it but it’s disappointing when you spend that much on bags and don’t receive a box. Corporate said they’d send you a box directly?
Did you guys get your boxes? According to my SA at Saks chanel, as of January 2022, she was told they are no longer giving out boxes with their handbags. She said she was told by corporate that it was for "environmental reasons" . They are letting all their clients know now to minimize the shock later.
Not sure if this is all of chanel or just saks. It sounded like it was all of chanel.

Bought a bag in March, was told I would get a box as soon as one came in. Never heard from my SA about it again. I even followed up and she said sorry there is a shortage but she'd try to get me one. Nothing. I don't care for the box personally, but this is poor customer service and I agree the box is part of the luxury experience. I wonder if they will still have boxes in Paris boutiques, especially Rue Cannon.
 
Do they think the boxes are thrown out and end up in landfills? They already changed the flowers to paper for "environmental reasons“. I repurposed mine so this is disappointing. They should still make boxes and it should be provided when a customers to ask for one, they do for plastic straws here in California. If I’m paying 10k for a bag it should come nicely wrapped in a box. So what about Xmas time no special wrapping? I’m sorry I’m not on board for this :tdown:

The SA said starting Jan. So I think Christmas will be ok. I get it though, the box is part of the luxury experience. Who knows if it's chanel wide or just saks. It sounded like chanel but my SA at nordstrom chanel was unaware.

Yes I did read this would start in January 2022 after this Christmas season. I was thinking of Christmas after this goes into effect as they always have holiday ribbon and Camillas they wrapped the boxes in.
 
Moreover…When you’re often charging $8,9K+ surely you can hire some bright minds to create beautiful “sustainable“ packinging…
Yes, this! Other companies have lessened their environmental impact by using more eco-friendly or sustainable packaging. Not sure why they couldn't figure something else out to make the experience feel more "luxurious" vs. just a bag in a dustbag.
