hi apey_grapey- hope all is well.

which gardena are you using? did it come in two sizes?

 How are you? I have been very busy, very stressed, yet very bored at the same time -- I think I am suffering from burn out. I am in dire need of a vacation.

I have the medium Gardena. There is a small (a little like the 28 Jypsiere) then a medium (which is a practical crossbody size for women if you're using it as a bag and not a purse) then I believe a men's size which is a little bigger.

sorry about the burn out- lots going on here-

Isn't it odd - beautiful leather super inside no logos - all the things we say we want in a high end bag yet fewer want to carry them compared to a LV or Chanel etc
Is it the price point?
Are they just too plain?
Are they too unrecognisable?
Do we all want to spend on something that looks like it was a costly purchase even though they are expensive!

it's nothing odd about it just different people prefer different things. I never liked any of their styles. I once had a wallet from BV and I used it occasionally for about 6 months and it looked so worn (and I am very careful with my things) so I sold it and never look back at them again.

BV is a brand I admire from a far. I bought one once and then returned it. I love the leather and the weaving the understated look of them. But ultimately the style options are lacking hobos don't really work for me and the size options are either too small or too big. I think if they added more user friendly styles more people would buy them. I also agree with the other posters who said BV isn't a well known brand probably because thier items are more understated people who are looking for big flashy items will walk right past them to a more well known brand.

I only own 1 BV, to be honest I've only use it once. I went to BV store and the SA was very good at his selling skill lol so I ended up buying the classic hobo but I regretted because I just don't shoulder only option. Even though I like BV quality, I never buy my 2nd BV bag because when I went back to BV store few months later, I don't see any non woven style that I like. I just don't want to have another woven bag. Most of BV r woven leather

I used to dislike BV, but now I have come to like it so since I have been in two camps here is what I thought :

1. I come from a country where the traditional basket weave handcrafts are abundant. It sells inexpensively in souvenir shops and markets and made in small villages. Therefore, my first taste with BV iconic weave is not something that would be sold in a high end boutique with high prices. Everytime I saw BV, I would think of rice paddy lifestyle.
2. The bag design is lack of "punch" for some people. With weaving style there isnt much you can do. The style always on the boring side.
3. The weaving can look busy on patterned clothes.
4. And come on, it is only weaving the strips of leather ! It is a craft that we all learned in art class back in elementary. How hard could it be?

However, I talked to a professional bag colorist ( I decided to recolor my BV, which unfortunately by the time I realized I like BV I have sold it and now I regret it) and he said that at a glance BV leather strips look all the same, but upon close inspection the strips are actually a blend of matte and satin tone to give the bag a more dimensional look and avoid the bag looking "flat". This technology cant be achieved by traditional coloring so he adviced me just to leave it like that. I have not confirmed it with BV SA, but regardless what the SA would say, my feeling to BV has grown and also BV lack of logo fits my daily activities and clothing style. I always wear solid colors like navy, black, dark gray and it is a nice backdrop for weave bags. The BV color are mostly muted and dusty tone which is less "on your face" and can look less dirty. It is lightweight (which I have realized a lightweight bag is all I need). The leather is soft and the weaving is neat. I havent seen uneven strips cut or weird weaves. They always look sharp, clean and meticulously done.

I used to be obsessed with BV and got two bags, one of which I sold (white woven tote, totally not practical). The other one I never wear but can't bear to sell a 4K bag [emoji85] for a huge loss. I feel like BV is so under the radar that most luxury lovers don't like that. Also the style is very mature, and only some people can carry it off without looking staid. Personally I think you need to look crisp and polished wearing BV; otherwise, the appeal is lost.

I'm over the brand though. I really hated that white tote and it has put me off.

I’ve tried REALLY hard to like BV, but it just doesn’t do it for me. The dull hardware is off-putting.

That said, my BFF has this cross-body (pictured below in gold) in an understated bronze-y metallic that goes between gunmetal & brownish depending upon what she wears. It’s the coolest bag! Perfect for travel.

I would buy her bag in the same color as her’s, the one pictured in gold, and the attached hobo. I actually saw this on eBay for $398, but dragged my feet and it sold[emoji26]IMG_8294.jpgIMG_7786.jpg
