they don't give "% off" discount but "points"... i think right now only Saks & bloomies give % off discount when open a new card...
bloomies provides 15% off right now if you open an account. i just did this last week for a chanel bag.

When Bloomie has promotion, it usually lasts for 4 days, Thursday - Sunday.
You will get 20% off for new account opened during those days, and you can use 20% off on all your purchases for 2days -- limited by your credit line. After you open account online, you can call the 1-800 number provied on the form (or just credit card service) and require for a higher credit line, otherwise, you may not be able to get even one chanel bag. Hopt it helps.

Hmmm...too bad there is no Chanel inside San Francisco bloomies and also when I opened my bloomingdales credit card 4 years ago I was told the discount couldn't be applied on any of the luxury brands. I wonder if I can order Chanel products by phone through a different Bloomingdales!
Yes, you can definitely do that. There are only 3 Bloomies across the country that sell Chanel: SCP, NYC, and Chestnut Hill. Once your account is approved you can call one of the three and make your purchase.
