Hi H_Lov3!
Hmm, I can definitely see what you mean. That’s interesting… mine is Epsom but it does not have this (see photos) as intensely as yours. But, I do notice it the slightest bit.

I imagine it is the leather piece used or structure inside, and over time with things in it, it would soften/melt a bit, but I would also be questioning it! Maybe this is a Sellier thing… I’d definitely ask your SA about it. Curious what others say, too!
Dear Chamorrita83,
thank you so much for your reply and for the photos. Hum :( thats weird. I will definitely ask my SA about this.
May I ask, Do you feel that there is something inside which is smaller than the original size of the whole bottom?

Found a picture of the inside online
It’s noir and indigo outside
With bleu frida inside
Played with the bag for some time, it doesn’t feel bulky or boxy against my frame.
perhaps because it’s not a classic retourne “normal” Birkin, I don’t feel that I am actually owning one
I m still eager to have one retourne Birkin, yet all my friends and boyfriend think the sellier style suit my character
So I cannot decide if I should sell it or not
Its a beautiful bag and I love the colour combinations.
I think its sad if you sell it because its your 1st Birkin and if you didn't love it you should perhaps have held out for one you did love.
My advice would be to buy a preloved Retourne Birkin and then if you find you no longer want to reach for the sellier and accept you never really liked it that much but didn't want to turn down the offer-THEN sell it.

Is there an Odes to Birkin Sellier thread? If not we should start one!

My SA offered to get me a B25 sellier in craie and is getting me the approval. I'm so excited! Any thoughts on the maintenance of epsom in craie?

Thanks!
I absolutely love my Epsom Birkin Sellier. In Sellier, especially for the Birkin, I love the structure and of course I love the Epsom for its durability and water resistance. Several SAs have told me it is the exact same leather as the Madame V,
But it’s the “process”-embossing- of the leather that is the only difference.
Epsom:
One of Hermès’ most popular leathers, Epsom is the successor to the now retired Courchevel ( which a lot of us that own this leather feel that it looks and feels like the Madame Veau, veau in French is Calf)
leather. Introduced in 2003, it has quickly gained popularity for its practicality. Epsom is a processed male calfskin known for its fine press. It is embossed into a natural looking pattern boasting fine grain and a lovely sheen. The process creates a rigid leather that allows products to hold its shape over time. Epsom is definitely not a soft leather, ( depending on size, use, and years you’ve had the bag in my opinion, it has soften a bit while still maintaining its shape) rather a lightweight, durable one that is easy to care for and resistant to water and scratches. A simple swipe using a damp cloth is usually sufficient for a quick clean. Our SA said “veau” is calfskin and well, calfskin is calfskin but it’s the processing of embossing the grain that is the only difference. One of our previous SAs had been with Hermes for over 20 years and totally agrees with our current SA regarding this. In my opinion Epsom being offered for Birkin Sellier is the only way to go for me and I recommend it to anyone that lives in an area where it rains a lot and don’t want to worry about the bag getting wet. Perfect London bag…let me correct myself, PERFECT- ANYWHERE bag :) congratulations on your offer and don’t forget to keep in mind to go with what feels good for you. If you absolutely fall in love with it in your offer meeting then take it but if it doesn’t make you feel like you can’t live without it, then you can always pass on it and wait for a better offer, one that is more suited for you. Believe me, you will know when “the one” IS “the one” lol.

I disliked it at first too, but after getting my first I absolutely love it and it's my most used H bag. I may not add more to my collection but I personally think every collection should one sellier B.
May I ask which size that you both have for your sellier? And what about the sellier that makes you both love this style? I'm getting one next year (but in B25).

My is a B25, I love the color (etoupe) + how it stays in shape + how the leather (epsom) is just so carefree and of course the overall look
Yes, I completely agree. Congratulations.
Thank you =D
