My first reaction was, "Oh, it looks so stiff," but I took it because it was so beautiful and my first offer. I don't know if I'll ever become a collector, but one thing for sure is that I like to wear my bags to death and hate having them sit in my closet. The upside of sellier is that they're being made with lightweight leathers. Veau Madame was surprisingly so light considering it's size. And FWIW, my SA said she *thinks* veau madame will eventually become softer with more use. I'm guessing it'll become softer like how epsom becomes softer, but I doubt you'll ever get the slouch you see in softer leathers.

We were offered a 40 Birkin Sellier WGH in Nior. Maybe it’s because my spouse expressed to our SA it was for a very special occasion in our lives and the fact that all my B’s are 40 but in the Retourne style. Not sure if we were offered the sellier due to the fact my hubby and SA worked together for this surprise but I can ask all this at our appointment if you would like. I love your sense of humour, HNY! I personally wouldn't go bigger than a B25 in the sellier style as it may appear boxy. Having said that I only own B25/B30s, so if you are used to bigger sizes and do carry a lot then if you love what you see I would say go for it!

So if you’re used to B40s then I would say it’s not gonna look any bigger on you. I’m so in love with mine because I love both Sellier and retourne styles, whether B or K. And like what others said, the leather is very lightweight. I posted this pic here of a side by side comparison.

The second one is compared to a K32 Sellier. Which is wider and looks bigger than the B Sellier.
When I carry my B Sellier people’s heads turn tbh so if you don’t wanna attract attention and you might get self-conscious using it. It is because it’s very beautiful and classy looking; I don’t think half of them recognize it as a Birkin. Are you able to see it in person, or have to buy it sight unseen? I bought it without seeing it in person but it’s because I’ve dreamed of one since it came out last year. Good luck!

Just read this on Instagram I wonder if now the B40 Sellier offered to us will be 25%more.....the 25% tariff increase is the price of the compact wallet I was eyeing. I Know to some the 25% tarrif increase may be of no importance but when you purchase Hermes items once a month every month religiously, things start to add up.....
“Today the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced new tariffs in response to the French digital services tax. The tariffs of 25 percent on $1.3 billion worth of trade would not go into effect until January 6, 2021. The tariffs would apply to several make-up products, handbags, and assorted soaps.”

Hello Gorgeous, so we turned down the BS40 because it was with PHW. We also turned down the Craie 25 (maybe it was a 30 but it was with 1.)RGHW (honestly my main reason for turning it down, just not my 1st choice in my personal opinion and my spouse agrees) because it was 2.) too small to get my arm through it,like I like to carry it and I would never be able to fit everything I deem essential to take with me each time I walk out the door lol. BUT I stood my ground on it having to be a Noir (with GHW) and our SA dusted fairy magic all around and although I had to wait a few more days, It was sooooo worth it!! I took the leap of faith to the 35 in Noir with GHW and I could not be happier!!! Thank you for all your thoughtful opinions and advice. Happy New Year H sistah

congratulations! I too prefer ghw/rghw and would turn down anything with phw. enjoy her to good health and now on to the next dream bag!!!!
