Bey and Jay have the same tight circle of friends for decades. Kelly, cousin Angie, Ty, Ty Ty (that's diff people) and some others. That's who their real friends are. The people they hang with on the weekends, the people they go on vacations with.
Apart from birthdays and one shopping trip, have they ever hung out privately? I can think of one candid of Jay & Kanye and it was staged as all hell.
The people they double-crossed were businesspartners or "associates".
(Letoya/Latavia was a different situation. Bey was a teenager under her dad's control back then.)
Kanye produced 4 songs for The Blueprint and 2 for The Black Album. Good stuff, but he hardly took Jay to another level in his career.
He crashed the VMAs 5 years ago after having "a lil sippy sippy".
He wanted to do WTT just as much as Jay. He's a Jay-Z groupie. The Throne was the "power couple" Ye always wanted to be (before Yeezy & Easy became a thing).
I can attend someone's birthday and work closely with them and still not attend their wedding, especially if that meant having to deal with the paparazzi and all that other boo-hah that comes with Kim & Ye. There's levels to friendship.
Everyone was speculating if Bey and Jay would attend and Bey killed the speculation with a selfie. Bloop. Big deal. I don't get how so many people's feeling could get hurt over this?
Now about that congratulatory message...
He did want to do it but that speaks to how highly he thinks of Jay (and I do think he feels indebted to him in a way). Kanye is willing to put off his things for the sake of their relationship.
Agree to disagree. As others have said if you do not attend my wedding for no reason i would not consider you a good friend.
No, I am saying Kanye touched on those things but the song was also praising him. Kanye acknowledged the negatives but said he would/did talk it out with him. This song was recorded back in 2010.
Jay in my opinion reiterated this dynamic by not showing up at the wedding.

Beyonce & Jay are NOTORIOUSLY private if they can't control the outcome. The paps, the people, the "insiders"... do you really think they would want to be a part of that? Even before "elevatorgate", they wouldn't put themselves in such a situation.
Like I said: There's levels to friendship. We can be close enough to party together, work together, yet at the same time could not be close enough to share such a moment together.
Or we used to be close, but aren't anymore.

ETA: Kanye just recently signed with Roc Nation. Not just as an individual artist, but also in cooperation with Donda. Why would he do that if he resented Jay in some way. It's business as usual.
Whose feelings are hurt? I think Kim and Kanye should take this behavior/hint from Jay-Z and Beyoncé exactly for its worth in friendship.. Which is non-existent and worthless. It probably hurts since Kanye, at least, probably expected more. If he's smart, he'll use this as a wake up call.
What is meant by peace? Are people not allowed to disagree or communicate with opposing views?
As an equal opportunity analyst, I'm happy others are starting to see that Beyonce's life is just as much, if not more of a farce as Kim's.
Usually every thread ends up being about Beyonce. How the hell has Beyonce's thread become "The Kim Kardashian Show"? She didn't go to the wedding. I'm sure she wasn't the only one, so be it. And it's her IG. Could she not post when she feels like it. I didn't know it was tacky to engage with your own fans when you were invited to an event. Sheesh.
How the hell are people on here talking about how Kanye feels? I didn't realise he had so many very personal friends on TPF. None of us know how he feels, for all we know he might not care less Bey & Jay weren't there. People need to chill out, stop speaking for Kanye and taking their own words as gospel.
