Hi, Caithlinlim. I gt a lot of info through your comments. Would like to noe which budget inn or guesthouse is near the Gangnam or Apgujeoung streets? After surgery i hope i can get back asap to the guesthouse. hehe:p
Thank you

heheh thank you~ glad it had been some sort of help :)
EVchain guest house, nakseogdae branch is near gangnam, about 6-7 train stations away, if you really want to stay near the clinic, it'd be expensive and they will only have hotels there unless you're talking about the clinic's guest house

Dear ,
There's hardly a clinic that's best in all :)
Either give and take or accomplish your feature one by one :P
Facial contouring - regen banobagi and ID
Double eyelid - teium, jewelry , Migo , regen , dream , real (in fact too many, it'd really depend on your eye condition )
Nose surgery - not so sure. Primary or secondary?

Dear Caitlinlim,

What's ur suggestions for primary nose job? By any chance u know their rate or range? ;)

I wouldn't dare say bargainer now because she is now known for bringing foreigners to these clinics, and these clinics may use her as a platform to raise the prices (without her knowing). do not blame her because we all need to eat, just be prepared, read through all the forums to see what are the prices expected and go there, show your poker face and get zoe to translate every word for you when bargaining with their consultants.

I will still bring her so the korean doctors can understand exactly how i want my face to be designed. she's really good in english and chinese, so you'd have no problems communicating.

actually if the clinics are interested they can pay her commission behind your back ( and she raise prices slightly/ recommend the clinic ), so girls pls be careful?

hi caitlinlim,
i wonder is banobagi has a great job on double eyelid too? because banobagi seem using the different method (double embedding) to get the double eyelid, which is the advance method to avoid loosening double eyelid after the long term. i'm not sure other clinics using this method or others.
besides, may i know incision method is it same as double embedding method? confuse~ pls advice.. :smile1:

haha, i'm confused too, but there are always new procedures and fancy terms coming out every year. i suggest you have a talk with a few good doctors..
because every eye is different, some have thin skin while the other may have thicker lids. incision is effective for thick lidded patients. but then again there are doctors who can perform non-incision on thick lidded patients.

Good luck :)

okay it's just my advice ah!
these are my findings

- Migo creates nice nose based on their surgery reviews and i liked how they turn out natural and proportionate

- Banobagi also creates nice nose but they are always done with forehead argumentation to create the nice side profile so i don't know exactly how they look like with just rhinoplasty

- Regen, their doctors seem to have held many rhinoplasty workshops (according to their website). they turned out okay (IMO), i prefer bano's
but they'd won many awards and seemed really professional..hmmm

- Shimian, dr jung....seemed really famous but many bad reviews regarding service

again, please pick a doctor you feel will help you achieve the results you want.

Yeh I agree:)
But I don't know , somehow I trust her...
Just gotta know your rights as customer.. Can actually know how they charge their own people.. If you're worried about the price, can actually like say tell them
"I'm interested in zygoma and mandible reduction, what's the best price? (if not within your budget) can you give free procedure "

Thank you caitlinlim and surgeryaddict,

I just got replied from ID and ITEM,
ID quotes me the costs for two-jaw surgery is 16,000,000-17,000,000 KRW. (1 US$ = 1,124KRW), i havent get the quotes from ITEM yet, but the dr Chung wonjin just reply and asking for my facial picture. Both of these clinics dont provides guesthouse. They just gonna recommended nearby hotel.
Well it's quite over my budget for now, so if anyone have done 2-jaw surgery before, plz help me out? Grreattly appreciated.

Hi there everyone ~

Its been 15 days since my zygoma and V line surgery and I'm posting some information that hopefully, will be helpful to people considering the same surgery. All opinions expressed are purely my own; feel free to drop me a line for clarifications but I am by no means advertising for my doctors, passing off opinions as facts, etc.

Sorry if the post is long!!!

I went to Korea last mth (sept) and visited the following clinics:
1. ID hospital
2. IDEA surgery
3. JK plastic surgery
4. Dream surgery
5. Banobagi

I finally settled on Banobagi for the following reasons; Dr Oh was very polite and detailed in his consultation. He spent a great deal of time carefully explaining the procedures to me and the recovery period, etc. I do not regret going with him as my post op care was better than expected (some people have said that post op care is non existent in Korea, well, I got to see Dr Oh 4 times after my op, once immediately after my surgery, the next day before my discharge and twice during my follow up consults).

At 15 days, I can see the outline of my face, it is by far, appearing to be pretty much what I wanted ( i brought in a photo and was satisfied that Dr Oh took some time to study the photo and my face to see if its achievable).

On my last day, he told me to email him if I have any further concerns and if I am in Korea in approx 6 mths, to visit his clinic again just to see how my healing has progressed.

Ok, those were the pleasant parts, now onto the less pleasant parts of my story, recovery !!

Day 0 - woke up with my face completely bandaged up with tubes sticking out of my mouth and a mouth piece. Was lucid but groggy for the next 6-7 hrs. It was difficult to sleep as I couldnt breathe or lie sideways. And I constantly felt like throwing up due to the anaesthesia but couldn't cuz I could not move my jaw. And I was dizzy.

Day 1 - Discharge !!
The nurses removed the tubes from my mouth - no liquids or food for the next 6 hrs !! I got home in one piece but constantly felt sleepy. My face started to swell up and that's when you actually get depressed. Well, at least, that was how I felt.

I was advised to be on a liquid diet for one week

Day 2-6
I started to have noodle soup on Day 3 - this is the period you will lose alot of weight as you have no appetite and feel groggy all the time plus your face really swells up after the 2nd day and it is damn depressing, haha ! I consumed alot of pumpkin soup (not sure if it helped but my swelling started to go down at the end of Day 3). Started to brush my teeth after Day 3.

One thing to note about pain - the pain is a blunt pain, much like you're wearing braces on the first day (for the mandible). I experienced pain in my teeth though, more like sensitivity one gets when the dentist cleans your teeth.

Day 7 - first consult. Dr Oh said the surgery went well and my healing is on track. My right side is more swollen than my left profile. Its still pretty obvious that I went for some kind of surgery. They do not remove the stitches

Day 8-11
Life as I know it has started to return to normal. I can eat (in small bite sized portions). I still have not much of an appetite so i consume alot of jellies, Starbucks, bread. I've heard of girls who ate Korean BBQ some 8 days post surgery but at its best, i could only insert 2 fingers into my mouth at its max. Sleep is getting better. Swelling has minimized; people do not realize I did surgery until I speak.

Day 12-15
Stitches out. I still lack feeling in my lower lips and its only apparent I did sth to my face when I speak. They say that you can eat anything you want now apart from alcohol. I also have to wear a pressure garment daily for 4hrs, which kinda hurts cuz my face is still swelling.

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone considering this surgery !!

Hi Ziyi,

Can you tell little more about your surgery? What was happen with the consultation at ID. and how much it cost for your surgery/ total cost for the trip in Korea? thank you for your concerns. Best

Hi snowlicious,

I am not doimg eye revision since i just had it done at bk. i am
Doing nose, zygoma reduction and 2 jaw surgery on my next trip. I will be doing jaw amd zygoma at id clinic and nose back at bk unless i van find a clinic that can do it cheaper than bk.

Hi Shane77

Did you have your consultation at ID clinic? and did you get any inquiry for 2 jaw surgery anywhere else beside ID? Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone!

Since i've been receiving alot from this forum the past year or so, i'm going to write about my experience n korea. BTW im a 20 year old male. I was naturally born with double eyelids but they are hidden by drooping skin and fats (probably left from when i was 90kg lol). So i decided on a small tapered crease before i went to korea and thought that i would definitely need the incision method to excise the skin and fats. I visited two clinics.

1) Banobagi

The doctor i consulted with was doctor Park Sang-Eun. He said that i should not get the incision method as i had deep set eyes and if i removed fats, my eyes would look sunken in in the future. He recommended that i get the double embedding method to create a line that was higher than my existing natural eyelid. He poked around with a toothpick thingy but the crease looked really high. I told him that the crease he was making with the toothpick was really high and it was making me look sleepy. He understood and tried making a lower crease. I insisted on having only 1mm. He tried multiple times with the toothpick to make a smaller crease and when he finally made a small crease he smiled and sighed (obviously in relief) lol. The doctor did not speak english, but he was really friendly and willing to talk. i had my english translator and the clinic's chinese consultant with me.

2) Regen

The next clinic i went to was Regen. It was really crowded and customers at the clinic looked really really good. I consulted with Dr Kim Woo Jung. Once i stepped into his room he stood up and greeted me and pulled the chair inviting me to sit. Really nice guy. I told him what i wanted for my eyes and he started poking around with the toothpick. He too suggested the non-incision method. He said that guys should avoid the incision because we cannot cover the scars with makeup. He also recommended slight epi for my eyes to get a better result. Dr kim too did not speak english but he was very honest in telling me that i did not need other surgeries that i consulted him for.

In the end, i chose banobagi as i was getting a lip reduction there too and because of the good reviews. On the day of the surgery (yesterday) doctor park came in with the toothpick thing again and started to design the crease. I emphasized over and over for a small crease. I noticed he was rather meticulous in making the design as he took quite a long time trying to ensure both eyes were symmetrical. The local anaesthetic injections hurt quite bad and the injections were injected twice in different locations in both eyes. Other than that the operation did not hurt and i only felt slight pinching. I noticed during the operation laser was used on my eyes but im not sure what for =/.. Gonna ask the doctor when i see him on the 13th for a follow up... There was no pain at all after the operation.

Im on the 2nd day of surgery and im rather worried about my results =(. My eyes still seem rather assymetrical and rather puffy and still slightly drooping (although not as much as before the surgery).Hopefully it's because of the swelling. Will update soon! =)

My translator was also Zoe and she was extremely helpful and patient and willing to give her personal advice to me. Her rates are also really reasonable for the amount of time she spends bringing you to clinics.

HAHA , I be heading in to Seoul this April :)
I think it's just me, we Asians should love our button noses :) but of course if really its too huge or anything odd, i wouldn't disagree to rhinoplasty :) its a personal choice .
And I've read through many forums (p.s a little of a stalker in the making) haha
And I've come across many people going for nose revision.. So I always discourage people from altering them in the first place.

How about you :)

I am seriously thinking of going to consultations first before deciding anything else, I am thinking of banobagi, small face, jewelry and ID, have you booked yours yet?
