Hi,I was wondering if anyone has heard of dr kwang min park of shimmian.i had emailed for a consultation to shimmian and received a answer from dr park and not dr Jung.haa anyone done procedures with him?has anyone in the forum had reconstructive surgery for the nose due to dermal filler complications?i heard dr.jung is quite good in this particular field?is this true?thanks so much guys

Hi,I had been inquiring about reconstructive rhino with shimmian Korea and doctor park emailed me mentioning my proposed procedure will use self rib cartillage.but my case is regards to recnstructive reasons , not purely cosmetics.if it was purely cosmetic maybe they would prefer to use implants rather than cartilage to achieve the desired look.i hear rib cartilage may not be lasting due absorption by the body but I'm not very sure though.hope it helps..

Hi everyone!

Since i've been receiving alot from this forum the past year or so, i'm going to write about my experience n korea. BTW im a 20 year old male. I was naturally born with double eyelids but they are hidden by drooping skin and fats (probably left from when i was 90kg lol). So i decided on a small tapered crease before i went to korea and thought that i would definitely need the incision method to excise the skin and fats. I visited two clinics.

1) Banobagi

The doctor i consulted with was doctor Park Sang-Eun. He said that i should not get the incision method as i had deep set eyes and if i removed fats, my eyes would look sunken in in the future. He recommended that i get the double embedding method to create a line that was higher than my existing natural eyelid. He poked around with a toothpick thingy but the crease looked really high. I told him that the crease he was making with the toothpick was really high and it was making me look sleepy. He understood and tried making a lower crease. I insisted on having only 1mm. He tried multiple times with the toothpick to make a smaller crease and when he finally made a small crease he smiled and sighed (obviously in relief) lol. The doctor did not speak english, but he was really friendly and willing to talk. i had my english translator and the clinic's chinese consultant with me.

2) Regen

The next clinic i went to was Regen. It was really crowded and customers at the clinic looked really really good. I consulted with Dr Kim Woo Jung. Once i stepped into his room he stood up and greeted me and pulled the chair inviting me to sit. Really nice guy. I told him what i wanted for my eyes and he started poking around with the toothpick. He too suggested the non-incision method. He said that guys should avoid the incision because we cannot cover the scars with makeup. He also recommended slight epi for my eyes to get a better result. Dr kim too did not speak english but he was very honest in telling me that i did not need other surgeries that i consulted him for.

In the end, i chose banobagi as i was getting a lip reduction there too and because of the good reviews. On the day of the surgery (yesterday) doctor park came in with the toothpick thing again and started to design the crease. I emphasized over and over for a small crease. I noticed he was rather meticulous in making the design as he took quite a long time trying to ensure both eyes were symmetrical. The local anaesthetic injections hurt quite bad and the injections were injected twice in different locations in both eyes. Other than that the operation did not hurt and i only felt slight pinching. I noticed during the operation laser was used on my eyes but im not sure what for =/.. Gonna ask the doctor when i see him on the 13th for a follow up... There was no pain at all after the operation.

Im on the 2nd day of surgery and im rather worried about my results =(. My eyes still seem rather assymetrical and rather puffy and still slightly drooping (although not as much as before the surgery).Hopefully it's because of the swelling. Will update soon! =)

My translator was also Zoe and she was extremely helpful and patient and willing to give her personal advice to me. Her rates are also really reasonable for the amount of time she spends bringing you to clinics.

hi megalife, how's your eyes? everything ok? i wish to get my eyelid done at banonagi too. i'm just wondering what is the different between incision method and double embedding?
hope to hear from you soon~:smile1:

I'm also thinking of getting botox done but is very afraid of the aftermath. Where do you plan to have your botox injected?

Hi, I had mine den in Singapore. It's easier because you need to get it reviewed after two or four weeks and it would be too pricy to fly to Seoul for the review.

By the way, I saw your photos, Item did a good job for you. Did you also have love band surgery? I had my nose done in BK and am not satisfied about the results. I will go back for a revision.

hi sinman

sorry to hear about your ordeal. i think this is the reason why a lot of chinese patient fly to places like korea to get their surgery done. when i was there in BK, there a whole slew of chinese patients that were there. there were even one that did a facial contouring and she her face was completely wrap in bandage. not all surgeon are bad, i guess its all comes down finding the right surgeon and a little bit of luck. all the negative review about BK and yet my result from BK turn out great. i wish you well and hope everything turn out great for your revision work.
What did you do in BK, Shane?

Hi guys!

Just had my NJ and eye bag removal this morning and everything went smoothly. I went in at 10am, and woke up around 1pm. I heard the op lasted about 2 hrs. That means I was KO for about an hour :D

My feelings at the moment... I'm glad it's over!

When the local anesthetic was inserted into me, I think I was awake for abt 20 secs. All the while thinking... hmm I'm still awake. Then next thing I know, I am already in the recovering room hearing the nurse's voice, saying I can rest here for a while. Man. That is indeed a smooth op :)

My nose is bandaged up and can only be taken off in a couple of days. Noticeable results can only been seen in a month. (I do not want to base on a few weeks to give review as nose will still be slightly swollen) Best results in 3 - 6 months, so I will update how my result is until then.

Dear all,

i wondering if anyone knows if there's any skilled plastic surgeons who perform rib cartilage rhinoplasty in Seoul?

Hope to hear from you all soon! :)

Thanks!

here's a thread about rib cartilage rhinoplasty:
http://forum.purseblog.com/health-and-fitness/asian-nose-job-2-a-532179-16.html

you might want to read this link about the risks involved before considering rib cartilage rhinoplasty: http://www.realself.com/question/major-risks-revision-rhinoplasty-rib-cartilage

The biggest complication from the harvest is a potential for a pneumothorax (collapsed lung. But then again, there are always risks involved with whatever plastic surgery you partake.I am also considering rhinoplasty but wouldn't personally consider rib cartilage though; am thinking maybe septal cartilage ???:confused1: but am still doing research...

illumni - Congrats. It's great to hear that your surgery went smoothly. Can I ask what kind of rhinoplasty did you undergo? Rib cartilage or implant? Did you get tip plasty too? Thanks!

Hello and thanks for your well wishes! :)

My rihnoplasty procedure is silicon implant, septal cartilage for the tip, and alar base reduction. Also doc made my nasal bridge slimmer by filing away both sides of the nasal bone. :smile1:
