Being my mother's daughter and inheriting her love for and a 1/3 stash of her jewellery collection
Buying Cartier since my early twenties and getting watches and jewellery at their VIP sales including a RB diamond and Plat eternity ring at USD 2500.
Getting custom made pieces with good quality stones and great craftsmanship

Platinum and diamond stud earrings 0.4cts. Small, but very good quality (g, vs1) stones , in a 4 claw setting. Bought for me by DH, as I don't like large earrings on myself. I only remove them to clean them. I always feel that these little beauties complement every outfit. I have owned them for over ten years and although I love larger diamond studs on others people, I have never wanted to upgrade my own. My rings on the other hand..........
I finally bought some of these today and I love the smaller size. When I browsed online I thought I needed much bigger ones, but they just didn't look right on my petite frame and small lobes. So glad I bought them locally. I could have got them cheaper online but I would have wound up with a size that didn't suit me.

My recent purchase oval-cut diamond studs. I usually I do not spend a lot on jewelry ( the hubbs normal does that ) but I wanted to buy something for me to me. The girls cost a pretty penny, however thank god for the Los Angeles Jewelry Mart!

3. Gifted a Cartier Love Bangle back when the prices were reasonable
4. Buying Hermes silver (nice and weighty) back when the prices were reasonable.

I see a pattern......:smile1:

1) Resetting a pear-shaped diamond pendant into a ring (I don't wear necklaces much)
2) Selling my Cartier Love bracelet (I fell for the trend, not in love)
3) Resetting diamond earrings and pendants into a tennis bracelet
4) Buying a Cartier tank francaise and Ballon bleu and forgoing other watches (the cost-per-wear must be practically zero )
5) Getting a diamond eternity ring for work in lieu of my engagement ring - at least I don't rip the gloves anymore.

Starting my cartier and VCA collection. My e'ring and wedding band (it's white gold but I would never changed it for anything). And my diamond studs which I wear everyday.

Regretting buying my daughter her first earrings from tiffany. I should have gone to cartier!

Investing in rings and watches. (I see my watches as jewelry.) Bracelets can fall off my wrist easily. I lost a pearl bracelet earlier on this year. Hope it finds an owner that will take care of it! Good necklaces are also worth investing.

1. My best jewelry decision was going with my heart and getting my non traditional ering even though people told me I would regret it. Well guess what - I don't and couldn't be happier with my ering.

2. My new 4.5 ctw eternity band - I can see myself wearing this forever!!!!

3. My tennis bracelet that I have had for over 8 years. It is classic and I see myself wearing this for a long time as well.

4. Selling all the jewelry that I don't wear and keeping a few fun pieces of costume jewelry to add to my bracelet stacks.

1. Buying myself diamond stud earrings before I was married. At the time, it was a gigantic splurge but I have worn them almost every day since and I always feel chic and put together.

2. Changing the dial on my 36mm Rolex. At first I picked the jubilee dial but after living with it for 2 years, I realized I had made a major mistake-too busy! I swapped it out for a plain silver diamond dial and while a pricy mistake, I now LOVE my watch!

3. Re-purposing my 3 stone diamond pendant necklace that I never liked or wore (present from my DH when our daughter was born) into three separate diamond stack rings- love these and wear them every single day!

4. Selling and melting down all of the YG and silver, unused jewelry in my collection and using the money to remodel our kitchen- increased the value of our home and don't miss these pieces at all!

Buying classic items as soon as I can and putting off other things.

Best investments were my Cartier pieces.
Realistically I wish I picked up a couple of classic handbags on the way.
It's nice to have pieces you live in and don't have to take time to accessorize everyday. I have to consciously make myself swap my earrings now that I bought several Tiffany earrings. However I find myself sticking with the little bead earrings ironically.
