Best Hand Cream

I have the same problem, I have incredibly dry hands at times that cause my knuckles to bleed. I have yet to find my perfect hand cream. Neutrogena Norweigen formula is good, as is vaseline or cocoa butter or anything that doesnt have alot of perfume. I also like Loccitane shea butter or Crabtree and evelyns gardeners formula. But the only thing that really works is to make sure you reapply reapply reapply! Also make sure that the handwash you are using is gentle - this is a big one for me as I wash my hands frequently and I found a lot of hand washes even the expensive ones were incredibly drying.

I used to get this when I delivered papers. The best thing is a product called "Working Hands". It may sting on deep cracks but it heals cracked hands & feet super fast.

There's also a product called "Working Feet" that is basically the same, if you can't find the one labelled for hands.

Good Luck.

L'Occitane Shea Butter hand cream - fantastic!!

Hands down this. I've tried a ton of handcreams since I fly alot and my knuckles will turn into a chapped, bleeding mess from the cabin air if I don't use this. Nothing works as well as this does for me.

Usually L'Occitane is good enough, but I also use Barielle Intensive hand treatment cream a couple times a week for extra penetration during the winter. It's an overnight treatment that includes cotton gloves. There are a couple good treatments like this on the market, but I can usually find barielle's at tj maxx or marshalls for a fraction of the price at 6.00 or 3.00 on clearance!

THE ULTIMATE HANDCREAM = LA PRAIRIE

You will never regret this purchase! It works MAGIC! The price is deathly (135$CAD for me) but both my mom and I are like hardcore addicts to this handcream! I love La Prairie, and this is their absolute best product and it works even AFTER you wash your hands (well... as long as you don't wash and scrub them excessively with loads of detergents and sulfates). One application a day is all you need and it dries really fast (none of that yucky greasiness like L'occitane's... ughhhhh).

Eucerin is probably second best and very much afforable at about 10$ but the result is not the same imo. Once you wash your hands, the dryness comes back like any other cream, so you gotta reapply and reapply.

Hmmm... also I recently discovered another really good handcream: Lancome's Nutrix Royal (although I find the collection's bodycream is even more fantastic than the handcream). The handcream has similar qualities as La Prairie's imo and also dries very fast (and leaves somewhat of a matte feeling???). I just bought it and used it last night and it seems to be very good. I haven't reapplied yet, but my hands are still quite supple (no dryness yet, no flaking, but the skin around my nails and cuticles are starting). Anyway, it's a more affordable version at 40$, but I'll see how it does in the long run before making any permanent judgements on it.

I used to have the same problem in winter here, and I couldn't find anything that worked until I tried Glysomed hand cream. I just put it on before bed, and it works wonders! Plus, it's pretty inexpensive.

I have the same problem as you once it gets cold outside.

THE BEST hand cream that I have ever tried was Weleda Skin Food (you can buy it at most health food stores and even at Target!!!). It is thick and rich and VERY moisturizing. I'm not kidding...it's the best (and natural, too!).

Don't use Vaseline!! All it does is creates a barrier so no water/ air can get in/ out. I recommend Shea Butter, it has done A LOT for my whole body!

Yes, Vaseline is horrible for your skin (from what I've read in many, many books). It basically coats your skin like plastic, not letting anything through. It doesn't moisturize or do anything beneficial for your skin...
