I think Neutrogena makes some good products for super dry skin. I also recently discovered a product called "Flexitol Heel Balm". It's for cracked heels, and it works great. Perhaps it would work as well on hands? You can get it at any drug store in the foot care section. I got mine at Walmart.

Ouch!

I'd try shea butter or vaseline, something with a low water content. My sister's derm recommended AmLactin for her hands, but that stuff stings like crazy (because it's so watery)! I always look for something extra thick with no fragrance, alcohol, acid, etc.

i haent tried it but my sister, brother, dh, and a guy at work recommend using "bag balm" i need to fin this because i have the samproblem with my feet  my hands get really dry but never bleed..

Aquaphor all over your hands and then put gloves on and sleep. It works wonders! You will be totally amazed. Works for feet too.

I was going to suggest wearing gloves overnight too, but if you all ready have open bleeding cracks it may get infected. Also carrying around a travel size lotion with you everywhere you go, so you have no excuse not to use a moisturizer.

i agree w/ the neutrogena (Norwegian formula lotion) I have eczema & my skin alway chap, peel, bleed. I woke up this morning & my legs were all bloody:push: I've tried various products & neutrogena is the only one that works for me. I notice a difference after using it twice. Great stuff. I highly recommend:tup:

Nivea makes some good lotion as well. Just slather on a THICK hand lotion at night and wear gloves like others said. And then, just keep your hands hydrated during the day.

HTH :hugs:

I swear on this one too. Neutrogena norweigian formula lotion, is the best. Give it a try and you will see the difference in just one application.

try bag balm instead of Vaseline. Vaseline could dry your hands out further in the end put the bag balm on the gloves at night it should really help and drink lots of water and take Essential fatty acids/ omega 3,6,9's they help prevent skin dehydration and trans-epidermal water loss. good luck keep us updated on what works for you!

The best stuff ever made:

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. Smells like crap but works....in literally 8 hours! I'm going through the same thing right now and put this on at night. It helps A LOT!!!
