It feels very vintagey and reminds me of the styles from the 70s and 80s. Plenty of space in there too.

I don't understand the vachetta on this bag! Is it waterproof? Mine feels coated, If I didn't know better I'd think it was vinyl!!! Am I losing my mind??

I tried and I don’t like how the hooks have to go under the little side straps to hook on the buckle. If you don’t slip it through the side strap then it pulls the buckle away from the bag. Definitely not designed for use with a separate strap.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m a little bummed, I was hoping to swap it out on days I don’t want to worry about the vachetta strap.

I'm torn between this bag or the upcoming cannes in giant. If anyone has ever played with, or owned, both the boite chapeau souple and any cannes bag, I'd really appreciate it if you let me know what the differences are in how much you can hold and which one you would get if you could only get one.

Also, I'm new. Would it be ok if I posted the same question in the cannes club?

to those asking about the vachetta... i got caught in a little bit of a drizzle this afternoon while i was out with my boite chapeau souple, and my vachetta still looks the same. no water marks. one time i even accidentally spilled a little bit of iced tea on the back slip pocket and thankfully it didn't leave any mark!

The Cannes is a stiffer bag and doesn’t rest as comfortably against the body. I think they hold about the same. You might be able to reach your stuff more easily with the Cannes as you have to feel around in the boite to find your item. I think the boite is lighter which matters to me but maybe not much to others. I think it just depends on your priorities in a bag. I want super light and comfortable. Others may have different requirements. Just depends.
