I just realized this thread after gro alterted us on a different thread. For what it's worth, I believe it's funky photography and that the bales are indeed rounded.

This was my comment in another thread:

"I see what you're saying gro, but I still think it's funky photography and the angle in these shots. The front bale on the angled shot of the bag looks dead square (as it does in the pic of the white and the magenta posted on another thread), but the back bale on that shot looks rounded. You can also see the curvature of the bales in the full frontal shot of the bag." IMHO, there's no such thing as one rounded bale and one square one, even on fake bags. So it only makes sense that the bales look square in certain angles given Raffallo's crappy photography, and that they are indeed both round. I encourage everyone to enlarge this photo to take a look.

Either way, I've just purchased a GH City from them and the consensus here was that the bales on it looked square in Raffaello's pics. I will definitely post pics when it arrives. I don't want us to have an unfair opinion of Raffaello yet. Everyone we know so far who's purchased from them and received a bag says they received an authentic.

^^bales are the metal attached at the ends of the shoulder strap. It should be rounded and should have an indentation on the authentic BBags. The fakes BBags, usually, will have square bales.

Deco, I think I agree with you.

Back in the summer when I started this thread, the photographs were different.

The GH City Bags were the only ones on their website that looked off.

Now I'm thinking that it IS the photography.

I'm sure a member here would have posted something about receiving a bad bag if that was the case. It has been months now.

I apologize if I jumped the gun here, but the photographs on the website over the summer were not right.

thanks though gro, i appreciate you alerting us! :) better to err on the cautious end but i'm still glad that no one has had any problems with them!
ITA with pluiee, gro. We have to remain vigilant. Every post/thread like yours focuses people's attention and reminds them what they should look for. I bet many people learned for the first time after reading this thread that bales are a central authentication feature. So I applaud your post. It would have been really odd if you noticed square bales on Raffaello (and they look damn square!!) and said nothing :s.

i appreciate gro's effort, too! i finally found out what square bales look like! i never found the time to read up about it. plus the search function's been off for sometime.

i just got a f/w06 Black Box from Raffaello, r/o. to have been really diligent, i should've posted in the authentication thread but i doubt they'd provide more pics. truth be told, they sounded very defensive when i asked them about the season/year of the discontinued style (i also recently put up a pic of a camel-like bbag in the authentication thread. they'd lumped every colour under 2008!) - they said they're under 2008 cos they're supposed to fall in that category! :nogood:

the rivets and bales are good, i hope!

HI guys,

Last week, i tried to buy a bag off the Rafaello website (a marine with GH) that was on sale. I had got to the final 'go' button (after all the cc details were logged), clicked on that whereafter a message saying 'Error: there is no Item in your cart' was displayed. I took that to mean that the sale didn't go through. Moreover I didn't get any confirmation email from them saying that the sale had happened.

I remained worried however cos I had input in all the CC details and clicked on the Go button. To ease my mind, I immediate emailed their customer service describing what had happened when I tried to buy the bag.

They emailed back saying:

Dear Customer,

thank you very much for contacting Raffaello Network Customer care.

We hereby confirm no pending order displays on our system.

Please, do not hesitate to contact us for any further assistance.

I smell something fishy here. Is this phishing? The first reply was sent to my Yahoo add but the second one was via gmail. See how it just says 'Your order 215137'. no description of whatever it is I may have bought. But the sender's email address is exactly the same as the first email from Rafaello. Im :confused1:. I went to Rafaello's website to check if the sale may have gone through after all, but there is no tracking system there to check what is order 215137.

I've emailed them right back but haven't gotten a reply yet. Im so confused.

Anyone else has had a similar problem as this?

i had a slight problem when i ordered my box online but it's a different scenario. it seems that's how they write their emails... i have two separate email addresses, depending on whether it's payment by google checkout or paypal. sorry i can't advise you better. to be safe, just make sure you check with your cc issuing bank that there's no transaction holding in your credit limit. hths.
