Barbie's Dream Bag - Coach And Barbie Team up

I just don't see the Barbie being only $95 if they only made 700 - 1000 of them. I would think the smaller the production run the higher the cost....and less than 1000 is not many when you are talking a Coach Barbie.

This Barbie is a Gold Label doll, which means 25,000 or less were made. I read an article that 13,000 dolls were made, which sounds about right based on her label. Coach probably had a set number to sell, and the others are being sold through Mattel.

Well, I know that I won't play with it per se (and I have a little boy who likes Legos right now), but it's definitely coming out of the box and going up on my handbag shelving unit for display.

Mint/NIB be damned. LOL.

Yep. I feel like if I bought two or left it in the box that's a slippery slope to becoming a doll collector, which is really not who I am.

I canceled my Coach order and got one off Mattel for $90 total (inc shipping, but no sales tax).

I doubt it. The Coach Barbies are designed to be a collector's item, hence the price tag. There are Coach Barbies already on eBay that are selling for far more than $95.

I'm confused--how can you tell it's sold out on the Coach website? Is it b/c it doesn't end up in your shopping bag after you click ADD TO BAG? I just get the interminable round timer thing when I tried to add one (I just wanted to see what happened--I already ordered mine this morning).

Thank you. I canceled my Coach order for 2 and ordered from barbiecollector. That is a savings of $27.53. I don't feel that much love for Coach as of late.

That's what I kinda thought, Coach only had a certain amount. I wonder if the ones Coach sold are going to have some kind of special marking on the box?
