I feel it for you, it does add up too damn quickly, i didn't get anything special, 3 small acqusitions, all within SLG price range, but after 2 months of total non-spending it did feel heavy :(
I am back to BI, hope to make it till the end of summer at least

Fellow Islanders - I need help and reinforcement resisting the urge for a Kelly Pouchette. Problem with my Lovely SA is I ask, it happens I n a matter of weeks. Problem with me is I am already 3 bags deep this year and it’s not even mid- year yet. Insane right? I want to pace myself yet i over accumulate yet again. In a sane world , I should only buy another quota bag closer to year end and call it a year. But this insane woman can’t stop itching for new orange boxes. I just want a bright colored KP to stare at right now so I can stop feeling salty about nothing. Heheheheheh.

Is this a need? Why not stare at the 3 lovely bags you already received this year?

H makes gorgeous colors yes, but they always release new gorgeous colors every season. You can pass this season and enjoy the ones you have now.

I like the suggestion of staring at my lovely bags. I think because I have them all boxed away, I am not as mindful of the beauty and treasure in my possession. I just need to enjoy them and hold out till 4th quarter of the year. I ve been so terrible. Gosh!

I guess the question is, do you need it? & if you think so, are you willing to sell another bag in its place?

I, too, am always looking at bags. The funny thing is I was never like this when I was younger. But, now I just love handbags. I suppose because they always "fit!" LOL. That being said, I do not have a lot of bags. Honestly, I have two. A Coach Rogue 25 (Dark DenIm) (bought on sale) and a LV Speedy 25 B (Azur) (bought preloved, but like new) - both with matching wallets. I rotate my bags every 6 months. My Rogue in the fall and winter. And my Speedy in the spring and summer. I truly think I have found that elusive "purse peace." Yes, I still look at and admire other bags, but I totally adore the two bags I have so I have lost the urge to buy more. However, I did just order a Coach Dinky Crossbody (I wanted & really did need a weekend/night out bag). But, I am seriously done now. I do have some regrets on the price point of my LV. Seems a bit ridiculous to me sometimes to spend that much money even preloved. But, it is such a classic, timeless, and beautiful bag. And, it suits my lifestyle perfectly, as does my lovely Coach Rogue 25. I love using and looking at both my bags. I am also weary of the buy, sell routine. So, I am done with that roller coaster, too. I guess my point in all my rambling is sometimes we just need to stop and "smell the roses" and I have two beautiful blooming roses!

Joining and aiming to not purchase anything until the end of the year or just ONE more bag max this year. Went to the outlets today to buy clothes and shoes for my kids. I saw 2 Miu Miu bags that were highly discounted and I started to think, oh these are so pretty.. What if I don't see them again? Almost got them but I realized it would be such an impulse purchase. Resisted and hoping to stay strong!
That to me is always the most tempting, the deal!

I was the same as a youth. I grew up with the essentials (responsible single mom) so all the girls at school and then college had bags and they were always out of reach for me. Now that I have more spending money I have developed quite the addiction. I told myself the last purchase was my last for the year (Audacieuse PM Emperiente) but I'm lusting for a less delicate daily LV bag so I'm here just "browsing"...lol

Lol thanks, Can do Mom, for making me smile. Get ready for a story.

So MY perfect bag happens to be the Louis Vuitton Sully PM. I know many people don’t like this bag for one reason or another, but I absolutely LOVE it. I love everything about the bag, from the strap, to the zippers, to the way it hangs...I could go on. I have the PM and MM, but feel the PM is best for everyday use and the MM is best for me for trips. Every time I switch bags I miss using my Sully. But I need to switch because sometimes I need a crossbody because I have two young kids. I kept thinking I wish the Sully had a crossbody and had feet. I don’t know how I found it, but the LV Audacieuse PM is pretty much a Sully in leather, with feet, AND has a crossbody strap!! The Audacieuse is discontinued so when I saw a new one, I went for it. This is why I’m thinking I’ll let go of some bags. I don’t really want to have too many bags but kept looking for something better than the Sully and haven’t found it. I kept buying bags in different colors and brands thinking I might want to branch out. I bought the new LV Graceful and think it’s lovely but feel the Sully is still better. I bought a balenciaga small city because i wanted a red bag, but those tassels are so annoying i haven’t used it. I no longer use my Proenza Schouler PS1 Pouch because i prefer my Sully. I was thinking of selling my Sully PM but decided I’d rather keep it and Sell the other bags that don’t bring me as much joy. Many people don’t understand why some people buy the same bag in different sizes, but for me, when I find something I like, I’m good. I don’t know why I kept searching for more bags, but I’m over looking for more stuff. I want to see how things go with my Sully and Audacieuse this year. What I no longer reach for will be gone.

I have this bag in the purple! Do you do anything to protect the suede? I already have some blue jean transfer on my suede area from rubbing when walking and I no longer wear it with the long strap because of that unexpected stain. Its dark and the purple is dark but I still see it and it irritates me that I ruined its perfect previous state. Cleaning advice welcome. That brown is gorgeous btw.

I heard this NPR segment that was satire ridiculing we bag ladies. Maybe you'll be inspired to resist by it! https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6225051

Hysterical![emoji23] Even though I also feel personally attacked..lmfao

Me too. I heard it on Thursday and still bought a bag yesterday! We’re supporting the luxury goods economy where fine sewers and crafts people make a better income than those at a sweatshop. I stopped buying cheap disposable goods in my twenties and realizing that every time I moved I was dumping stuff. Now I have quality items I can cherish forever and I actually shop less. Yeah a bag and nice shoes a year can be around 3-5 grand but with care we can have them for years and actually buy less. Unless you have the means of course [emoji6] no judgment just thought it was very “cheeky” and perhaps motivation to realize when we have enough.
