I went ahead and left ban island when I achieved my planned 3 month ban and I think it was okay. I don't need to be collecting zero bags per year but I need to be able to count them on one hand because that's a huge improvement from 2017 if it happens. So far one in 2018. I'm on another 90 day ban now and then one more in early summer, is my plan. One in autumn for my birthday and one for Christmas.

How are the ban islanders doing?
I've been shuffling things on the wishlist lately. It's interesting how quickly I can change my mind. Also, one of the items I've been wanting to customize is finally available online so I can play around with it. This helped narrow down the wishlist too.

I can't wait until I can place that order. Delaying the order really ensures I like the customization because I can't return it if I'm unhappy.

Fell off of ban island when my HG bag was temporarily being sold in my area. Ordered it - feeling ashamed for not being able to resist!
But the almost unthinkable happend - got it/didn‘t like it that much - and it was the romg size!
So returned it happily!

Now thinking of building a sandcastle on ban island!
I love how things just worked out!

I am still doing OK - I got my last two bags earlier this year: the last one mid of Feb.
Counting from that, it is almost one moth and a half without buying a bag :)
But.. I have to be strong as I start looking for something new again
Hopefully, I will be able to resist!!

Been doing good, resisted all the bags that i would not pass on even last year, i really feel happy with what i have, and i decided to stay on ban for bags till the end of the year.
I might have small exceptions for a medium casual clutch, as i have figured out that i have this gap in my closet uncovered.
I have one dressy, black BV Knot, but it's too good for the slippers-and-jeans casual night out in the pub, i either take a bag with me, or have to put my keys and money and mob in the pockets, or hold them in hands.
target is to stay under 500$ and get something totally different from my current closet choice

There are so many amazing new brands out there with great quality leather and craftsmanship, so if you're willing to do some research, you can find something truly unique.

i am afraid, i've found it already
isn't it weird? you might not see something for a long while, and as soon as you think 'ok, i need it', it pops up by itself??
is this what they call the stars have aligned?? :D

I’m still doing good on Ban Island! I think it will not be a problem to reach the end of my 6 month ban. I may renew it for another 6 months as I am currently well satisfied with my bags and haven’t been fixating on any designs or leathers. I gave away 3 bags to my mother and felt relieved. She carries the Coach one all the time now which makes me happy since I wasn’t using it much. My goal is to use all my bags and enjoy the rotation.

Also, something else that is helping is I am enjoying doing my nails again. Used to get mani-pedis, blingy nail art, the lot, when I was single and had a good job. Being a SAHM makes you feel poor so I stopped going to salons. I always thought I was crap at painting my nails but now I realized that the nail polish really matters. I started using Butter London recently and omg do I love this brand. Goes on like a dream even using the non-dominant hand, the flat brush covers in two strokes and does the corners so nicely, dries fast and shiny, lasts a good 3 days without chipping (ok for me that is a miracle). The higher end nail polish brands are not cheap but it’s still equivalent to one trip to the salon, so it’s worth it to actually feel relaxed painting one’s nails.

Congrats on your ban success so far!!

And on the nails, this product, Seche Vite, is AH-MA-ZING in terms of making your manicure last. My manis would chip in a day or two. With this, I can get 5 days without a chip FF160D47-C6AD-422D-A184-19145D929CD1.jpeg Grab a bottle and google how it’s used. So easy and you will love the results.

I just made eight months on my not-really-a-ban. I have my eye on a couple of things but I’m pretty bag content. However, I did decide to sell the one bag I own about which I’m meh.

(Mr. Sparkle was instrumental in this decision as he is quite tired of hearing me whine about it and desperately wants me to get something... anything... to replace it. LOL!)

Congratulations on your bag contentment, eight months of not buying and decision to release a bag you’re meh on.
