@Cocoabean & @can_do_mom what noise cancelling headphones do you have?
I have the JVC HA-NC250 models. I bought them years ago. I have heard wonderful things about the new Bose cordless models and if I were going to replace these, that’s probably what I’d get. But TBH, I have no complaints about the JVCs and they were not that expensive. I got them off Amazon. They swivel and pack flat in this zippered case.3431974D-5577-4A57-864E-6B72639E322E.jpeg

Guys someone please virtual hi-5 me!!!! currently on holidays and all the chanel boutique told me that mini rectangle is sold out, and then I walked into one and saw the most gorgeous iridescent/metallic pink crumpled calfskin mini!!!! I know I’m after a mini at some point but this one is truly gorgeous and maybe a little high maintenance? The SA spoke little english and was super nice. Next thing you know it was on reserve for me! It was truly a FOMO moment as it’s the only one left in the country, to make it worse my bf won’t leave the area and kept on egging me to get it!!! I hesitated, returned when I was about to leave, and then had dinner in the neighbourhood. In the end I walked away from the bag TWICE knowing it could easily be mine......

My guy is laughing so hard because I’m laughing but crying on the inside LOL. I hope that bag goes to someone who can truly appreciate its beauty, and not a reseller.

So I’m still on the ban island.

another interesting update, my flight is cancelled and now I’m going back to the same city right near the department store where the bag was reserved for me. THE FORCE IS STRONG WITH THIS BAG!!!!!!!My bf kept on saying that it’s a sign #insertfacepalm

I have a pair of Sony headphones I purchased in a gift shop at Atlanta airport. They were about $80, and did not have a case. As they were an emergency purchase after a horrid flight, I would have paid twice that amount! They feel a little cheap. They work pretty well, but I would have preferred something that came with a case. Looking at Amazon, I think they are model MDRZX110NC. Costing about $43. That sounds to be about the right markup for the airport.

I have not been doing very well at writing down my spending. My plan is to look at receipts and catch up now. I haven’t really been shopping so this shouldn’t be too hard.
This ban has been good for my mindset. Dh and I have been working at getting our mortgage paid off. Then we will truly be debt free! (Except for any business debt we incur which will always be happening as we buy equipment and expand our business operations.)

I did the math yesterday and if I increase our mortgage payment again we can have our home paid off in less than two years. That will be a wonderful feeling! We have put two children through college (middle dd a senior this year and graduating in the spring) and will just have one left. We started saving for college when we had our first and I am very glad we did!

Mortgage free is an amazing feeling! DH and I paid extra payments nearly every month from the time we refinanced our home the first time a few years in. When his mother passed away she had a small estate. We used his inheritance to pay off what was left on our mortgage. She'd have been very pleased with our decision to use it for that. We paid it off in about 20 years.

Business debt is different, it needs to happen sometimes. As does car debt from time to time. When I purchased my last car I had made "payments" into a special account that was only for my car down payment. I knew this last purchase would be for a vehicle with bells and whistles. I saved for several years while driving my 1998 love. When it came time to purchase I had one heck of a down payment, and didn't finance much. I don't drive a fancy car, but it has leather, heated seats (soooooo needed in SoCal!), and GPS!! I paid it off early. Of course, I miss my beloved '98 Forrunner. Sometimes I wish I had just fixed it up...ah well.

I am still doing well with non-purchasing. I find it amazing how I can rationalize a purchase...Here is my latest weak attempt.

Two weeks ago tomorrow I fell HARD. Bruised up my ribs pretty well. So now my pea brain is saying well, perhaps you DO need to take your rolling carry-on, and get that cute pouch you were eyeing that you decided you don't need (that just happens to have a crossbody strap). That way nothing will be hanging off your shoulder hitting your ribs. Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket!

Oh my stars!! For real? LAME! I may indeed switch to the rolling tote (I already own it) if the ribs are still sore...but I still don't need the pouch.

All right...this might belong in the shop your closet thread, but...ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE....I bought this in 2015 for our 25th anniversary trip to St. Maarten. It was too small for me for daily wear, because I kept trying to put a wallet in it. I am a big bag kinda girl. I just dug it out, and if I use a card holder it will work as the pouch I wanted. It has a crossbody strap. If it doesn't work for me this trip, I can leave it with my sister. She is a small bag kinda girl, or one of her two daughters will snap it up.

While in my closet I also located my LV pochette accessories in Damier Ebene that was misplaced a few years ago when my sis helped me "organize" my room. I forgot where we put my small items.

I must say I am pretty tickled with myself right now. I've been thinking of replacing the Pochette. So, I just saved about $900. Yay!

Aha! The old clean your closet trick! I always tell my dc when they cannot locate an item it’s time to clean their closet. Many times they will find the lost item. What a great feeling to locate your pochette! Good for you!

Speaking of lost items... Right now I am trying to locate my dd’s Nordic ski boots. We are headed to our cabin early tomorrow morning to ski, snowmobile and perhaps go snowshoeing. The weather here is nice at the moment and we have fresh snow!

I’m all caught up on recording my expenses. So far January is looking pretty good although I’m invited to a cocktail party at Louis Vuitton next Wednesday night. Those parties are fun but dangerous!

Oh oh, take me, take me!!! I'll keep you on the straight and narrow!!! Ha! Have fun in the snow! Is that the white stuff that falls from the sky, and is very cold? In my area we have a phrase that is, "Go to the snow." Because it never falls here, so if we want to see it, we must go to it.

I was just browsing online for a coin purse when the mail arrived with a bill for a medical test I had done in December... x-out to the cute Kate Spade bear, with the 8% ****** coupon and free shipping. The bill was just a little bit more, so with tax--about an even trade. (sigh) LV's round coin purse is in stock on their US webpage, too. On my wish list, but my medical deductible is $350 which is starting again now, and I am sure the doctor I see next week with have something fun up his sleeve for me. Hmm..$350, just a tad less than the round coin purse. My stupid back problem is working against my SLG addiction!

Mantra: good choices, good choices....you CAN make good choices!

We went to the outlets yesterday on the way home from lunch and they expanded the Coach outlet! It was fantastic, so much to look at.

I happily walked out without a bag. I was more tempted by the charms, but since I am limiting myself to one charm a quarter to keep my collection from overflowing, I left them there.

I think I'm getting better and walking away from pretty things. lol.

Good for you! Walking away from pretty things is pretty much the key to staying on ban island, lol! We will see how successful I am with that when I go to LV on Wednesday evening.

In other news, I want to take pics of all my bags and put them in a folder so I have them handy when I am out and tempted to buy something.
