You summed it up perfectly… looking down at it and making me smile… diamonds it is. Thank you xThe diamond watch is perfect for every day and the plain one is too. The diamonds only stand out because the picture is so big. IRL the diamonds are subtle, but beautiful. Buy what will make you happy long term. You are the one wearing the watch and will look down at your watch and smile.
They are both available to purchase on the EU website right now.Hi Ladies,
I’m looking for SS BB in 33mm or 36 mm without diamonds but didn’t see this combo offer on the Cartier website. Did they discontinue this combo?
Thank you. I was looking at US website but didn’t see it. Will probably call customer service to see I could order it.They are both available to purchase on the EU website right now.
Good idea, I am pretty sure I've seen them at the store on Monday. Good luck!Thank you. I was looking at US website but didn’t see it. Will probably call customer service to see I could order it.
I did look at this one for a long time and tossed up between the diamond markers and diamond rim for a long time but have decided to stick with the Roman numerals. So many options! Thanks for the suggestion thoughWhat about diamond markers? Just throwing a spanner into the works
Congratulations! It’s a beautiful watch. Wear it in good health. Thank you for passing on the information about the new straps. What a game changer!Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just wanted to post that I recently decided on and purchased a Ballon Bleu 33mm thanks to all the great insights on this forum. It's a beautiful watch.
What hasn't been mentioned here yet is that Cartier quietly released new updated models of some Ballon Bleu styles with the user-interchangeable quick-change bracelet/strap feature. I don't believe this feature had been offered in the 33mm size before. So instead of paying Cartier an exorbitant amount and being watchless for a while like before, you can now change the look of the watch instantly at home without any special tools (just use fingernail). A great excuse to purchase if you have been sitting on the fence!

For the watches with the diamonds pictured in this thread, here is the previous reference number and the new (interchangeable bracelet) model's reference number. If it matters to you to be able to change the bracelet/strap easily, make sure to pick up the newer model as the price is the same (I nearly bought the old model which I would have regretted). One might also be able to get a sweet deal on the older model from an authorized dealer if bracelet/strap interchangeability doesn't matter to you.
Ballon Bleu 33mm, automatic, steel, diamond bezel
Old reference number: WSBB0016
NEW reference number: W4BB0023
When I called Cartier to inquire they told me that the old model had not been retired and I could still order it, but that turned out to be very inaccurate as it disappeared from the website shortly after and the new model appeared.
Hope that helps someone!
I've tried the one without diamonds today, it's lovely. Sadly I think I would prefer it in size 36 and the larger size doesn't exist in 36 (yet!)Looks like Cartier is set to release 33mm steel automatic models with a blue silvered sunray-brushed dial and grey Roman numerals. Available with or without a diamond bezel. Not as classic but very feminine!

This is really helpful as I’m considering this watch now. Does the same apply for 36mm?Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just wanted to post that I recently decided on and purchased a Ballon Bleu 33mm thanks to all the great insights on this forum. It's a beautiful watch.
