Bags you don't get

I saw a YouTuber with that bag. She uses that XXXXXXXL bag mostly for work. I actually got to see one in the Chanel boutique. It’s in their travel section with the suitcases. I’m assuming that it’s being marketed as a travel piece.

Oh, and it looks even more ridiculous in person. Like Chanel is making fun of itself...or its customers!

I think I know the you tuber you’re referring too, she has quite a nice Chanel collection however I agree that this bag is utterly ridiculous!

I have seen a lady carrying this bag in my city and it really did look silly, it’s all big and saggy, not like the beautiful classic cf we know and love!

These made me laugh out very loud

The H one could maybe work as a suitcase but the Chanel ones?! They'll go SO well with a little Chanel suit... Maybe the suits will come in supersize me too for a more complete look :amuse:
Laughing out very loud? Uh huh, that makes 2 of us :ghi5::lol:
And a Chanel mini skirt suit paired with one of these giant flaps will get one the best of both worlds, hahhaha

I think the flap you've seen is from their airline collection from a few years ago.

A giant classic flap as luggage, but Chanel calls it "traveling chic" :amuse:
No idea who they are trying to poke fun at, but since these monster flaps actually sell, I guess the joke is on us, the buyers

I've even seen a bad fake version of this flap being sold on Rebelle.

Surprised these bags sell well! I like the classic flap but these oversized ones look ridiculous!

Same here. I think it's a disgrace to the classic flap. But oh, well whatever floats one's boat. And there will be nothing left to laugh about if designer houses stopped making these ludicrous bags
Unfortunately these XXL bags are popular enough to be copied (and sold):

I read that a few of you mentioned the Gucci bamboo handles earlier?

I don’t get those too.

I’m from Asia and bamboo is soooo NOT exotic to me. I have them in my front yard. It’s a weed and needs to be kept under control. I have them maintained regularly (I keep them there for privacy between me and my neighbor).

Bamboo items are always in our “souvenir” section at the airport. Bamboo fans, bags, etc... So when I see it on a Gucci bag I always found it so bizarre. Haha.

It'd be similar for me if luxury handbag handles were made of pine wood instead I guess. A bit "rustic". Also, in Europe many are trying to make cork happen, but I just can't see it as bag material...

OT: I'll say one area where bamboo is clearly superior though to any other material I've tried, socks. Compared to cotton socks bamboo socks are amazingly soft and resilient to wear. There's some back and forth on whether they are environmentally friendly or unfriendly but until that is decided, I'm wearing them.

Haha this is how I *felt* I looked when I just wore a maxi flap [emoji16]
