I know I know Syntagma, but I couldn't control myself. This was just too much to bear....

LOL- I know but it's the MB for that kinda stuff. We are just having fun and being ourselves. But, just like us, I absolutely respect your opinion too! It just upset me with the insult to intelligence comment. I am fully aware I am a shallow individual (wish I wasn't but I am) but I have a degree and a VERY high IQ. I feel like it isn't a representation of my intelligence but just something I love. :smile1: Not trying to fight just defending myself!:smile1:

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. And I was talking about the thread starter, not you. Don't get me wrong, I love designer bags and have a big collection but the comment was way too superficial. Specially in a time where you see people starving everywhere that don't even have money to afford a plastic bag....

PEACE.

You are quite rude and ignorant which probably attests to your lack of class. If you do not like the thread that I started do not respond or contact the administrator. Rude personal attacks are immature and show a lack of character in my opinion. This is forum where one can express themselves without personal attacks. Certainly I do not agree with everyone but, I do respect peoples personal opinions and reserve judgment. Really I think think your post is about you and not me. I hope that you choose to avoid this thread or start your own voicing your own views. I certainly will not make rude comments and respect your point of view. Cheers and I hope that you have not been offended. Good luck and try not to throw stones!!!!! Respect yourself and others is my motto.

Oh come on, now! Anyone who is on this Handbag Forum is SHALLOW and SUPERFICIAL to some degree or another!...it doesn't mean we are heartless, ungiving, uncaring people! We're just being HONEST about our ideas on buying handbags, nothing more! Peace.

Well said indeed...I am not perfect:shrugs: and have many good points but, I do have a weakness for handbags and I cannot help it. My love  of handbags has brought me to this site and I do feel a bit guilty when I buy a very expense handbag, mind you I get over it fairly quickly. It is deemed by many to be shallow but, I love handbags like some people love art or nice cars. Some people will not drive a domestic cars (I do not care about cars by the way) and will only drive imports, that is how I feel about handbags. For some reason I have a love of certain handbags and I accept that about myself. Still I am a really nice and kind person just with expensive taste. Some days I wish I did not have such expensive taste in handbags but, I do:shrugs: . Ohh and by the way I have to work really hard to save to be able to get a nice handbag that I love. My collection is meager by many peoples standards and I feel so lucky to have a couple of nice handbags that I like to carry my cream of the crop handbags. Also it may be because I worked so hard to get them that I am just so happy to carry them and my inexpensive bags are put on the bag burner.

Cheers and happy handbag shopping!!!!

What's sad is I remember a time when I would say "Oh, an LV?? I could never spend that much money on a handbag..." Now I'm like $1500, oh, that's not too expensive... In some ways, I wish I could go back, be naive and not notice the shoddy workmanship or the blatant rip-off of another designer (This will be the one time I type this).... but now that curtain has been lifted and I will never be the same again.... Bring on the Hermes!!!

Yes, or Vlad will put us in 'time out' :sweatdrop:

I think most of us who are bag people go through this evolution in bags - similar to other things in life I guess :)

I started off carrying Coach and Burberry with only one LV, then I sold off most of the starter bags, and only carry Chanel, LV and Balenciaga now (I don't even like Prada anymore!!) I'm hoping to get an Hermes in the next year or so, and it's scary how your price threshold changes - now I don't bat an eyelash for $1000!

i agree. it's the same with cars, houses, tvs - anything and everything we own and covet.

with that said, i just bought a new chanel 2.55 bag two weeks ago and then a tokidoki bag last night. so i guess i'm not such a bag snob after all.

btw, tweetie - where do you sell your bags? i'm just itching to get rid of my chloe paddington but i'm too scared of ebay.

I guess I would consider myself a bag snob. I wouldn't carry anything from walmart or target nor would I carry a dooney and burke bags they distasteful in my opinion I hope no one takes offense. I love coach accessories and I do use my coach bags as everyday bags but lately find myself using those less and less..... but I favour my balenciaga and my LV's

Not really a bag snob, but ever since I got a Coach bag, and now a Louis Vuitton bag, I especially will not carry anything that is not designer or high quality. Probably just not below Coach. I've always had cheap crappy bags, so I feel a little bit like it justifies me only carrying above Coach-- I LOVE the quality! It's something I'm not used to! And of course there's more to it than that, but I do like treating myself to something I'd use every single day.

Honestly, although I love my designer bags, I still love buying good quality leather bags. My most recent bag purchases were Maxx New York and Hype ... of course, they don't compare to my high end designer bags, but the leather on them is very soft and durable. I have three young kids so sometimes carrying a designer bag isn't always appropriate but I still want to carry a good-looking bag. That said, I never buy pleather bags unless they're by Matt & Nat.

I actually was a one bag girl before my addiction started. I used to buy a good quality bag in the 400-500$ range and use it to death. But one day I saw a LV mono Alma and she was the bag who started it. I don't have her anymore because I went through a LV phase but after I bought my first Chloe I was lost to LV forever. I went back to my usual self and sold all logo LV bags to replace them with Chloe, Balenciagas and Kooba, all leather bags without screaming designer. My old bag is sitting in the closet and she'll probabl will sit there forever because it doesn't make sense to sell her: she'sa 10 year old Coccinelle which I got for my graduation. So actually I don't have a choice other than using my high end bags becaus i don't have anything else. I do catch myself that I'm distgusted by people who are wearing fakes because I hate them, they look cheap and tacky. But sometimes I see trendy bags I really like and they're from Furla, Coccinelle,Esprit, Mexx etc. I just don't buy them because they still cost 250-400 Euros and just a little bit more and I can have a Chloe. So I guess I'm a bag snob so what;)
