Oddly enough, the lining i am liking the most is none.. my remake of the classic Coach Madison satchel is 'raw' i love this not only is it soft but smells of sweet leather.

I have massive tactile issues and many liners turn me off they'll pick or just give me shivers lol

Probably one of the nicest designs of fabric liners i do have is in my deerskin purse, it's a soft floral pattern, the purse comes in other colors and the darker colors have liners that are more subdued but since this is pink it has more of a summer time liner choice.

Have to get a pic of my Madison inside...

my collection consists largely of lv so.....

i really like the red lining on the ebene bags. it jazzes up an otherwise dark colorway. i cannot stand the lining of my azur nf. its cream colored and its sooooo dirty :yucky:. i can't figure out how to clean it.

its so funny, this is something that ive thought about in passing, but never really thought about as a choice the designer/house makes! maybe they should do beta testing on bags....sign me up!

I love suede linings for their luxuriousness but find them an absolute pain to clean. If anyone has any tips on how to clean suede lining, especially the bits of dust and random gunk that find their way into the edges and corners of structured bags, I'd love to know!!

Firstly take everything out

Turn bag upside-down (outside) and get all those inexplicable 'grains' of everything out.

If the lining is not sewn all the way down you can pull out and brush (very gently) against the grain. The top layer (which has caught the dust) should brush away too. If not you'll have to brush while still in situ just be sure and hold on the other side of the outside of the bag so the bag doesn't pull out of shape as you brush (gently). If the leather is raw suede you can use a wire-haired brush but go so gently (as though brushing a baby's head). Suede can also be brushed with suede of the exact same colour. If you need to lift the grain in the opposite direction with a non-shedding, transparent rubber. If it's gone flat from friction wear (but hasn't gone too far) find a (totally clean) brush that will bring the nap back (coarseness of brush depending on the fine/rough texture of the suede or nubuck)

Bag lining for me is like sexy underwear, noone might see it but it sure makes you feel good wearing it:p So how important are linings for you and which of your bags has your favourite/least favourite one? Would it affect purchase decision? Tell us what matters - material, colour, print, stitching/glueing, easy to clean, texture, logo'd etc.

The Chloe Marlow with its blue velvet lining and the Fendi Peekaboo with a "peek" at its lining has actually got me excited about that bag more than its exterior. Not only that, I nearly decided on the LV Speedy Damier over the Mono because of its red lining and didnt purchase one MJ because of the black and white cotton logo lining (found it too "happening" inside!). I have even had serious thoughts of having 3 different coloured linings inside, so "red pocket" for the wallet/mobile, "purple" for the extras and so on... kind of a colour coding system though that might be too much for some:p
Love LV's Damier Ebene's red lining, Chanel's burgundy lining for some slgs. Some MBMJ bags' linings are too 'crowded' and so I won't consider. I think lining is important, it sure is to me: it comes into contact with all the possessions I put inside the bag, and has to have a comfortable touch, and shouldn't feel as though the brand cut corners with it.

My favorite lining is Tod's thick silk satin linings. It complements the bag while being luxurious, although, I do fear mussing it up.

Linings aren't a high priority when purchasing a bag, but a great lining will entice me more (actually happened with the Tod's bag) or discourage me if I feel the price point is too high for the caliber of lining.

Least favorite high-end lining is probably the Gucci Soho line. I have a Gucci Soho Disco and a Gucci Soho Double Chain Shoulder bag. Both have this light linen lining that I don't think really looks right with the outside of the bag.

Least favorite mid-tier lining is Rebecca Minkoff. Her linings feel cheap and can sometimes look gaudy.

Favorite high-end lining is the pop of red for my LV Damier Ebene pieces.

Favorite mid-tier lining is the ones in my Furla Metropolis bags. Don't know what the lining is made of exactly but the color is a spot on match to the outside of the bag and feels soft to the touch.
