My friend, she can get 4 birkins per year only from the one Hermes boutique (include one special order one bag per year)

A VIP has a certain amount that they need to spend but there is no standard. It differs by city. What they really want is a customer that shows interest in their whole product line, not just leather goods. If you branch out to RTW and house items, they will be very happy.

SA told me handbags are not included in VIP amount.

It differs for every boutique in different countries and cities in regards to bag limits.

About VIPs, it depends. SA and SMs may say that bags are not taken into account for VVIPs. However, if one realize, not all VVIPs are into H RTW, shoes; maybe accessories. They may not wear H RTW. Yet, they are VVIPs and able to custom bags according to their wishlist. At the end of the day, it depends for every boutique. They still have to take into account for bags purchases. There are many myths and stories in relation to VVIPs. Of course, it helps in having close relationship with top level Hermes people like directors.:flowers:

I'm still waiting for my first Birkin and they thought of someone getting 4 a yr, Grrr!
I have bought several things from Hermes and I am still waiting for 10 months now, just don't like the games and money you have to spend to get 1 Birkin!!

In the U.S., a customer is allowed one birkin or kelly bag every six months. All the computers in the U.S. are linked and one store can see what you've purchased in another. I know this to be true because I went into a boutique I'd never been in and they saw all my purchases made at the store I usually shop. At some point all computers world wide are going to be linked and this limitation will extend to all stores around the globe.

I'm going to the space station to live or become an alien not of this world type. That'll really mess with their computers. As it is now they think West Virginia is in Virginia. It's been that way since I started shopping at H. They've never fixed it so one is left to think is that by design. I bet so and I bet my boots they keep the extra $$ if I forget to catch them.

Oh, to the person who complained about not getting a purse from H in a year. Try 4 years and counting. Go directly to the resellers market; forget about Hermes boutique. Save your gas, your frustration, and the whole ball of curdled cheese.

Thank you very much for the clarification because there have been so many different versions of this on TPF. This is what my SA told me too!

How long has this policy been in place and enforced? Only recently or longer?
