Lets not make this about money and what we can and can't afford.
We each have our own opinions about how to treat our own bags, and that's fine! Let's not cross the line in being too judgemental about others treatment of their bags! To each their own.

I am not able to replace all my bags if I ruin them, but I still am guilty of placing my bag on the floor at times. It is after all, just a bag (albeit one that I love) but still, I'm not going to worry myself away over it. Life's too short. I could drop dead tomorrow and then what?

I'd just like to add a note....my original post was intended to be light-hearted/humorous, as I think some people understood. It was not to be taken seriously at all, or to pass judgement on anyone-I apologize if it seemed that way.

Totally not offended -- but I just sensed it was heading in a direction where some people might take offense..

For everyone setting your Coach in a chair and so opposed to setting it on the floor due to "cooties",.....ummm... just think what was in that chair last, Someones A$$! lol. I set mine where ever is handiest and safest and don't worry too much about it, cooties are everywhere and the safest way to avoid them is frequent hand washing. Yay for purell! :)

I saw a lady at the gym yesterday carrying her Large Denim Carly...AT THE GYM!!!

On the public restroom note....I would NEVER EVER put my purse on the ground!!! If there is not a hook I will HOLD it and SQUAT....NEVER ON THE GROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yucky:
Totally agree with that one... I avoid public restrooms as much as I can anyway, but if nessasary, it's a juggling act! lol

LOL @ the A$$. I was thinking about that too!

Now to be honest... I bought COACH in the first place not just for it's lovely designs, but also for it's claim to quality.

I have many of times bought those $20 bags and went through then so fast. Why? Becuase when I use a bag, I USE it. I don't nessesarly kick it around like a soccer ball, but I don't treat it like a newborn either.

So, when it was time to "graduate" to COACH, I was looking for a bag that could stand the test of time.
Now, I was first afriad to speak my mind with ya'll, because it seems like most of you do really take care of your bags and try and take every precaution on keeping them looking nice (and I was a bit embarrassed too ^_^ ).

I am geting into the medical field and learning all about germs and parasites and all that "fun" information, so I know what lerks around that floor, or in the air, or on that seat (woot), but even learning that, I just wash my hands more and try not to place my bag on the floor (where those germs like to settle, lol). I do use those hooks in the bathroom door, becuase I don't feel like juggling my bag while trying to do my business, lol.

Ultimetly, I buy COACH for it's quality and design. I know that tomorrow it's not going to fall apart on me. I am not rich by all means, so I do have to save up for a bag when I want one, but if I am going to spend that kind of money, I want it to last!

And now I am going to get off the soapbox ^_^;

"I try to take good care of my bags, but to me it's not a big deal! Ive been known to put my guccis, pradas and yes even coaches on the ground. I actually just came back from the casino (150 richer wohooo)."

Hmm...I suppose if I could afford to buy guccis and pradas, I could probably also afford not to worry about the condition I leave my bags in. But I can't, so i'm left with making my Coaches last as long as possible.

I know you threw in the disclaimer later...but not to sound *****y ....but that was kind of rude to jump to those assumptions! I (and my mom/bother) work hard for every single bag i have and i save up for the bags just like the next person!!! And trust me, just because i am carefree with my bags doesnt mean theydont last long...they do! I just visit the drycleaner once in a while ;) hehe! (that was a joke...laugh ;))

I like what FINZUP said...to each their own! This works for me, im not one to worry about things like that...i mean im not OVERBOARD im still pretty clean about it...but just because im open to hanging my bags on a hook doesnt mean i dont value my bag!!!! :)

Face it...we all LOVE and are OBSESSED with bags...thats why we are here ;)

I guess for me a new handbag is a little like a new car.

At first I don't really even want to take it out- for fear of getting it dirty or that first "ding"... Just enjoying that beautiful BRAND SPANKIN' NEW look... Then, I usually park at the far end of the parking lot to avoid any potential hazards..... finally once I become more comfortable and accustomed to being OUT AND ABOUT with it - I'm more able to incorporate it into my everyday life - - treat it with care - but not "kid gloves"!
