I found this Thread in the Fendi Forum. :hrmm:

Also, if one of their Authenticaticators sees a request on this Forum on a certain AT Thread & they have already authenticated that same item, the poor Member who posted the request gets a nasty email asking why they are seeking help from this Forum? Not impressed at all with their customer service or how they berate Members who simply would like a second opinion.

That means that the third-party-authenticator is stalking the Fendi AT thread and speaking from personal experience... I'm wondering who has time for that? But also maybe there isn't as much interest in the secondary market for Fendi as Chanel and so not as many requests?
The following is pure speculation on my part but I can think of several possibilities why someone might ask about the same item on multiple venues.
  • I've used A4U services for at least 6 different brands of items over the years and haven't (personally) been led astray (by that company), but there are several authentication companies whose mistakes have been posted on multiple AT threads here at TPF. It's possible that the client just wanted a second opinion even if they paid for the first. Just as it's often advised in medical care to get multiple opinions, why would it be a bad thing to solicit another opinion if the buyer is spending hundreds or thousands of dollars?
  • In fact, some Goodwill sellers use Entrupy for "authentications" and those of us who authenticate Coach are GLAD when buyers double check because my own records show at least a dozen mistaken authentications that have been done by their AI service.
  • There have been times when items have been authenticated on ebay's community discussion boards and they are also referred to TPF or other sites for more opinions.
  • Another possibility is that a professional authenticator might also volunteer here on TPF. So there's a chance that it's the same person who did both evaluations.
  • While there are legitimate reasons for getting multiple opinions, whether paid or free, I don't support rudeness. I didn't see what was posted and referenced on Fendi but if there was rudeness, I don't excuse it.
Again, this is all speculation because I don't know what transpired in Fendi but just considering reasons where I might post in more than one place.

Yes, this is one scenario where I could see where a third-party-authenticator would see a request seeking a second opinion, but then the public response should be something like "full disclosure I am the same person who has already authenticated this item through an outside third-party-authentication service and found this item to be authentic/not authentic and so if you are seeking a second opinion you should wait to see if another authenticator can help" or something similar. But based the original post from lovlouisvuitton ("nasty email asking why they are seeking help from this Forum?") I got the impression that it was more of a stalking the thread situation.

ETA: I also wouldn't recommend a company who make's you jump through hoops & have to Join FB just to get a response for an authentication!

Stalking, yes! Boggles my mind that someone still continues & has time to Stalk certain AT Threads.

Sorry, but there seems to be a misunderstanding about which AT Thread. I can see & understand how it looks as I posted a Link from the Fendi Forum, then added what has happened to certain Members who have used A4U & then asked for a second opinion on a certain AT Thread on this Forum.

I'm not going to post which AT Thread(s) - But I would not have made such a statement/comment if I couldn't back it up.

i emailed a4u to authenticate a chanel bag and indeed they are more responsive over FB. For the initial conversation, a4u asked for more pics, and advised me to email all over again with the additional shots. and they claimed that:

"We don't use mobile devices for authentication as it is unacceptable for authentication purposes. All items are reviewed on desktop with large monitor. Our authenticators are located worldwide, and in the case of Chanel new series items these are reviewed by two Chanel authenticators, one of whom is our Senior Chanel authenticator, and she is now offline due to her timezone. In general 24/36 hours, but this is dependent on the photos and is why I was trying to ensure that you provided the photos which are required, rather than waste time sending an album out and having a request for additional images. I will advise that they may still want a better hologram photo - I won't know until I have the file back."

And so i waited, and eventually, i fb her again to follow up if there is any response or more info required, as seller is only reserving it for me for limited time and she had sent rounds of photos as requested. And almost immediately i got this:

"Likewise a seller should provide high quality photos in the first instance in order that authentication can be carried out and also not say its 'not possible' to get photos. With that in mind, and whilst we do only have one hologram photo which is decent, this is considered genuine"

i am quite taken back by surprise because it seems like she is the authenticator? where is the email verification response? this statement of "verification" just purely based on 1 decent hologram shot and not all others that they asked for? i have so much qns running through but this was it, there was no more response thereafter, and no email too. i guess that fb message was the service delivery of verification? This is for an authentication check on a >15series recent chanel boy bag.

Much of my response is speculation because I don't know all the facts of your case. However there's a bit I do know based on my own experiences with them.

When communicating through Facebook, you are communicating with admin. I don't believe it's possible to converse with individual authenticators through the A4U facebook page. As such, I'm assuming that "we" refers to the authenticator who likely communicated with admin that it looked good.

You don't specify that you paid for the authentication and if you haven't paid, that might explain why you didn't get your PDF authentication.

For my last request, I got the facebook message authentication prior to receiving the PDF hard copy. They gave it to be electronically so I'd know ahead of time. Being told it's authentic gave me the peace of mind to be comfortable with my purchase and not have to worry about filing a dispute.

Hi all,

new to bag authentication as ive always bought from stores directly but when my dream bag went on sale in a private site i wanted to make sure i wasnt wasting my money with a fake. I used Auth4u and they said it wasnt genuine but the seller claims it is. so i wanted to ask for Celine box bags should i take Auth4u opinion as THE conclusion? or do I do the prudent thing and find another authenticator and if yes any recos for Celine?

Hi all,

Have any of you used authenticate4u recently? Have you gotten any reply from the company?
I've sent an authentication request some time in late Feb and have never gotten a reply. I pinged them on FB too (usually I get a quick reply there) but nothing... Since times were weird, I didn't want to bother, but now I see they have posted a new post on their FB page recently. :confused1:
They are really knowledgeable in different brands and I would love to use their service again, so I was wondering if any of you had any luck with them recently?

I did about a week ago. It was through a facebook message. Is that how you tried contacting them through FB?

I’ve used them twice. Both time I hade to remind them about my bag last was in April this year. But now I’ve got my pdf papers. I used FB/Messenger. I know another guy got his Gucci authenticated almost the same day. That is just a couple of days a go.
Regards Laila

Well, I'm glad you ladies had luck with them, but I'm still getting no reply to my emails and FB messages . I don't quite understand why as in the past they would be quite responsive on FB.
