Authenticate4U.com experiences?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

Examples?
1.There are some complaints about mistakes back in the topic that were quickly silenced.

2. In the link below on eBay community posts 6 and 11 from ''gidgetlovesfashion'' there are 4 examples of mistakes in both direction.
http://community.ebay.com/t5/Fashio...-Handbag-Authentication-Services/m-p/26112930

3. Most mistakes of authenticate4u are in direction to call authentic bag fake which is not less dangerous to determine fake as authentic. I personally know for 7 very expensive authentic bags which has been defined as fakes by this company. The bags are authentic for sure and checked in several ways. I can't give details for the case because the person who is affected by this case is a member here and if he has not given details here he probably has reason for that. Maybe he wants to be taken at gunpoint by some members here.
Because I suppose my 3 point will be taken as base to be attached with reasons that I don't disclose details.....just take points 1 and 2.

Agree here as well. It certainly does make one wonder about the relationship be it
professional or otherwise.
The service has been plagued by the same on going issues which don't seem to be
resolved & cause disappointment, time being spent trying to find where to contact A4U & perhaps not
knowing to try & contact A4U via social media & then perhaps taking the time to recoup fees lost.
There is a thread posted here by a TPF'er who from December is still waiting on an authentication
of a bag from A4U.. mind you from December.. we are now January 25, 2017!!
A TPF'er on the sub forum deemed the bag a "fake" but the buyer needed that authentication
to help win her dispute & it never was received..
This is a service business & while there might be unexpected issues , A4U has been
around long enough to anticipate these issues & resolve them by now

Why do you insist that if someone is happy with them, they must have a "business relationship" or "friendship" with them?

I've been happy with the A4U, I've had multiple good experiences with that company, I've used them for at least 4 different designer brands and I've never received an inaccurate determination. (I admit to having to follow up when communication was lacking and I've commented on that many times on this thread. They DO need to work on that!)

But I'd much rather give my money to a company where I can trust their knowledge and accuracy than one where I'd always wonder whether their authenticator got it right or wrong.

Posters should feel comfortable coming to this forum to share their thoughts & experiences as displeasing or pleasing as it might be to others.
This is a forum where information good ,bad or indifferent should be exchanged openly & where various opposing opinions
& views are shared in a manner where a buyer/seller can make the best choice for herself/himself in looking to have an item
authenticated & get the service they are looking & paying for
And, yes my experiences were costly & time consuming way beyond what I expected

Been meaning to try A4U for a while now but for obvious and often mentioned reasons, I was gun shy but finally the frustrations of dealing with the incompetence and lack of common sense exhibited by AF broke the proverbial camel's back so I setup FB account and got touch with them after paying and placing the order on their website about a week later. I heard back next day via FB that my initial email ended up in their Spam folder so why nothing got picked up. I suspected as much that's what was happening. They asked for a couple new photos and now my item is under review.

Look I get that ppl are frustrated with the way they operate, it's a small business and probably don't have the best or most robust communication system BUT here's how I adapted to get what I need from them: message A4U on FB, attach screenshot of PayPal receipt and provide link to photo album. Ocassionally you may not have to go through FB and that they get your email the first try but when there's radio silence this is a viable workaround solution.

Gonna give them a chance to prove themselves and that they're not a bunch of muppets like AF

There are many people as it was pointed out to me by a TPF'er who do not have access to social media, so
there are many who do rely on contacting A4U via their website & are disappointed when there is no response.
Hope you will not be disappointed either

It's also possible to call via Skype (+44 1592 806408) for way less than a buck and leave a message/or talk to a live person and ask that they check their spam folder under the email that was used to send the request, give them the PayPal receipt number etc. this is a workaround for A4U not having a staffer to man the spam folder on a daily basis. Or is phoning hopelessly old school nowadays? Guess my nature is a doer, I'm too impatient to wait for weeks on end for someone to respond and complain when they don't, or request and wait some more for a refund from PayPal for $7.

I'm sorry folks but they are very quick to ask customers to check their spam folders for "missing" authentications and given all their known communication/email/server issues, you'd think they'd keep an eye on their own spam folder. Just sayin'.

Failing that, if they don't want to be "bothered" with their website and want to move forward using Facebook then they need to alter their website to stop people contacting them through it.
