Insanely cheap prices usually = fakes.

In this case, it is good to know that new authentic Louis Vuitton is only sold in boutiques, eLuxury.com and LouisVuitton.com. You cannot get these bags anywhere else no matter what the website says.

Someone please give me some advice! I'm currently looking for a chocolate Gucci Guccissima Pelham bag and the newest ones are just too expensive. I Googled and came across several websites that claim their bags are 100% authentic but how can they sell the bags for so cheap? For example one website www.bigcitibags.com had the bag I'm looking for for only like $600.00. Is there a list on this website of other websites that actually do sell real designer handbags for less? Anyone ever buy from the following?

www.bigcitibags.com
www.grabcart.com
www.bagsofmilano.com
www.handbagcrew.com

All of the above websites say they guarantee the bags are authentic. Is it too good to be true? Someone please help before I make a huge mistake!

Thank you so much!!!
Amy

Hi Amy,

Yes, it's too good to be true. If you use the Search feature on this site you can find listings of shops and sites that sell authentic bags. MOST of the sites online sell fakes, no matter if they swear they're authentic. They are simply lying to get your money and to prey on the uninformed.

If the price is low, beware. If they have multiples of the same bag, beware. If the photo is a "stock" one, picked off the authentic bags' website, beware. That's just to start.

A simple rule of thumb is, expect sites with low prices to be selling fakes.

Best,
J

And please ladies.. when buying from a local shop that is "consignment" or "not an authorized retailer", take/request photos and get the bag authenticated here on PF before you buy it. There are MANY WONDERFUL consignment stores, both online and "brick & mortar".. but there is no way for them to know how to fully authenticate EVERY brand that comes in their store. But no one is an expert on EVERY brand. They do their best, they offer items they truly believe to be authentic. SO.. as the buyer, do your due diligence, and be certain that what you are buying is authentic. Honest retailers do not mind if you request photos and have the item authenticated prior to purchase. Saves you BOTH from heartache later on. And always pay w/ a credit card.

Ok, I thought the whole thing was over, then I got an email saying my order would be shipped soon! OMG I flipped out!!! I started sending very agreesive emails stating that I am a lawyer (which I am) and I had attempted to cancel my order numerous times, that my credit card company was prepared to dispute the charges and that if they sent me the bag, I would pursue US postal fraud charges... later that day, they sent me notification that my order had been cancelled. I checked the order status and it too stated the order was cancelled. I to date (knock on wood!!!) have not been charged but I have printed off all the emails I sent and have them saved just in case. What a horrible ordeal Thanks for all the member's advice on this!
