I bought a bag last week with the beige liner. Upon arrival, there was no dust bag and it was also missing the “attached” chain wallet. It’s weighty, has ykk on zipper and appears legit but… it doesn’t have a white id tag. I’m not so familiar with the tweed material so I feel unsure. I contacted Stella McCartney support and they told me that all bags should have the white id tag inside. With beige liner, it’s an older bag so it’s possible the tag fell off at some point.

The beige lining was phased out around 2012 and replaced with the pink lining. Therefore this bag predates 2012. This is a Stella McCartney bucket bag but I have not seen one IRL. Looking at other bucket bags online the chain attachment is different as you can see below. The lining, the embossing on the inner zippered pocket and the yyk embossed on the zipper looks good. Since the chain attachment doesn't seem to match other Stella bucket bags, I can't confidently confirm the authenticity of your bag.

But I was able to find a picture of Leona Lewis carrying this bag style in 2010.stella.png

Thank you so much for replying. And for looking into the bag with photos. I had not seen that one of Leona Lewis before!! I agree with you about how the chains are attached internally. I’m not a SM expert but I haven’t seen that toggle (whatever you call it) feature so I think I will have to take a pass. Sad bc it is quite cute :smile:

Even though many of the bag features seem okay and I was able to verify the bag style, I can't confirm the "toggle" feature. I haven't been able to find it in other bucket bag styles. I personally cannot say it is authentic because I am not familiar with this toggle attachment.

If you really love the bag and don't want to let it go, another option is paid authentication.

I thought about that actually… because it is unique. But… at the end of the day, I love a lot of bags and I am sure to find something I like just as much that I can be certain about. Thank you for offering your service on this site. It’s very helpful insight! Much appreciated!!

Be careful with these new bags on secondhand websites. The majority are fake. I’m seeing an increase in them and it makes me crazy!

I’ve owned authentic Falabellas that didn’t have a white tag. The lining is spot on which is hard to replicate. The YKK zipper helps too. I haven’t seen fakes with YKK zippers because they’re more expensive to use. Hope that helps and it’s called a bucket bag.
