Hi all. I posted a couple of days ago about a black Elise that I purchased from ebay. I contacted the seller about the purse and she said that I could return it when it arrived but she thought I would be very happy with it. Well, the purse arrived and has the RiRi zippers, the nameplate and the leather isn't all that smooth. I compared it to other bags like it and it looks the same. My girlfriend is going to buy it from me if I don't want it, so I contacted the seller and told her I would be keeping it. So, now I can't decide if I should give it up or not. It is so gorgeous and looks so real. Does the RiRi zippers and correct nameplate make it real or does that just mean it is an excellent fake? Gosh, I don't want to get rid of it:( Thanks for your help.

Pictures can never be 100% reliable, but judging from her past auctions, she definitely sold fakes. For example, this bowler's leather is too smooth and the RIRI zipper is wrong because the head is pointy shaped:

She sold a quilted clutch wallet that has strange keyholes in the pushlocks. Never seen that before, only on fakes:

She also has a midnight bowler currently for sale that is definitely fake.

She may have excellent fakes or mix fakes in with authentic bags. In either case, I would not buy from her because it's too risky and IMO unethical business practice.

Do you have a photo of the zipperhead to post?

Suzi, I can only tell you that it's definitely fake - I wish you have a chance to see/feel an authentic Elise. I personally would return it b/c I don't support any seller who attempts to sell a faked item as the real thing (scam) -- much worse than a seller who sells a replica without claiming that it's an authentic item. The final decision is yours, good luck.

Thanks. I'll post pics. tomorrow. I've been doing a project and must get some sleep. The lady was very nice to deal with. I even talked with her on the phone which resulted in me leaving her decent feedback. I know that was stupid. I can be so practical by day, but I'm a pushover when I get home. Pathetic.... I guess I'll let my girlfriend from work buy the bag off of me. She rarely seems to feel guilty about anything.:rolleyes:

And the photo of the zipper, the leather looks brown/burgundy, not black. I would ask for photos of the serial tag, and additional photos of the bag. The quilting along the bottom is uneven, but from what I heard, this is not uncommon with this season.

but I thought the uneven bottom was only a problem with the first 2005 batch??? unless I'm wrong... :confused1:
