I actually saw this style bag at my near Off 5th and liked it a lot. But they were all gone the last time I was there. They were selling for about $60 more at the time I saw them. This seems like a decent price.

=( Did you indicate in your feedback that the bag was fake?
Sellers who knowingly sell faked stuffs as though they are real to unknown buyers are sooooo wrong. There are so many people who get scammed by these dishonest sellers everyday. =(

No. I didn't do it because I wasn't really sure and she assured me it was real and I could get it authenticated or return it if I wasn't happy. Terrible excuse, but I'm new to all of this and I'm not used to dealing with scammers. I also was scared of a negative in my own feedback. I still wonder if she sent me a real one because my co worker and I took the bag to Nordstroms (Columbus, Ohio) today and found out that ours is too small to sell Marc Jacobs. However, the lady at the bag counter was very familiar with the bag and looked it over inside and out. She said that if it is fake, then it was the best fake that she had ever seen. My coworker is dying to buy it, but I don't want to sell it if it really is authentic. It really does look just like the Elise at the beginning of this thread. Any chance she could have a reserve of real ones that she "slips" in when buyers question her? There is no way she could have mailed it before my email to her as she initially stated. Are you all ready to strangle me yet?????? It's a sickness..... I use to be a jewelry addict and now I've moved to handbags. Am I in denial or is there a chance at all that it could be real?

If you post more photos of it we can help you out, there's not enough to go by from the photos in the auction. Specifically the back of the zipperhead, and the nameplate will be helpful.

Suzi, I wasn't trying to make you feel bad, I just wanted to give you my honest opinion. I checked out many of this seller's previous transactions, all the items are definitely fake. Gosh, the Ursula items look horrible, they are very...very obvious to anyone who has seen the real thing. For the seller to assure you that it was real only made her a bigger scammer. I'm 1000% sure that it isn't real.

It's okay. I just need a black bag and I was a bit hopeful after I spoke to the sales girl. I just really want to buy a Marc Jacobs and my husband will kill me if I pay the full retail. Well, no worry. I found a black Francesco Biasia last night that will do until I find an authentic Marc Jacobs. I hope you all will help me in my quest:)

I agree, I think it's real. The low price may be due to the fact that it's listed by one of those places where you take your stuff and they sell on ebay for you. I bought an authentic $645 Botkier brand new from an isoldit seller for $185. Can't speak for all of them, but they may not be completely knowledgable about what they're selling.

Thanks, I wanted to be sure. The price is wonderful. :yahoo:

bag.lover, i remembered you asked about this so i took a close look at the large black (non-patent) bowler i saw today at saks beverly hills. the tag said 90% goat leather and 10% calf leather, which made me laugh ("what do you get when you cross a goat and a calf" :roflmfao: ). i think it must have to do with the trim or something. hope that helps.

Fake alert? I was looking at this Large Quilted Bowler (non-patent version) listing, the tag says GOAT LEATHER (belongs to Patent Leather).

Owners of Quilted Non-Patent Bowler, what leather type is printed on your tag?

^ Thanks ladies for responding.
The Patent Bowlers that I came across are listed as 100% Goat Leather. I remember seeing tags with Goat+Calf for certain quilted styles (can't remember exactly the details/colors). I used to look at many quilted styles so often that I can't recall which is which now. There are seasonal differences for these bowlers even though they've only been around for 2 seasons (debuted in Spring 2006). Might have to start a thread on quilted styles soon.

Is this real? It looks pretty real to me but I'm having doubts, the price is so low. I don't know if I should bid or not.

Also, I found the black multipocket for $470 here: Euro Bella Collections but wasn't sure if they were a reliable source. Thanks!
I would request additional photos from the auction, specifically the bottom of the zipperhead, a close up of the pushlock, and the "Made in Italy" embossed in the suede inside. It's not uncommon for auctions to stay low, for authentic bags the price will jump in the last few hours before ending.

As for the website, that's for the large MP, and I wouldn't trust it. Some of the other MJ bags on the site are definitely fake.
