A MJ (black Patent Elise) bag turned up on eBay recently (please see the link below of the actual bag). The seller hasn't stated the bag as being authentic.

I would appreciate your thoughts on the authenticity and what I should look out for in future.

Hi and welcome to TPF! Hopefully we'll help you find an auth bag at a great price. The auction you posted looks fake to me, the leather is too smooth for MJ's patent on that bag. Quilted patent Elises are often faked on ebay, the only way to purchase one is to go with a reputable seller that is known to sell auth bags. Good luck!

It certainly looks like it could be real, I haven't seen any fakes with that particular dustbag and that's the dustbag my calfskin clutch came with. Everything looks right, the zipperhead, pushlock, stitching. The only thing that is different is the nameplate. My F06 has a wider space between the MJ and "Made in Italy." The "Made in Italy" on mine is longer too, not as short/compressed as this one. In may be a seasonal difference since I think Linen was a S06 release. Any other opinions?

The older Linen styles have Blue Suede Lining.
Linen is one of colors returning this season. The listing shows this wallet with dark brown suede lining (F06). This wallet is still available in stores, you might want to check it out before committing.

^ Just wanted to add the following: All the styles in older colors (non-F06 Linen, Putty, Butter, Orange, etc) are discounted at Nordstrom - at least 40% off. Have a friendly SA finds this clutch in the color of your choice.

Agree with bag.lover, call up Nordies and ask if they can track down a Linen clutch. 40% off would be about $240 and you would have the security of knowing that it's authentic.

I saw that one. Looks real to me. Ask for additional photos of the interior and the nameplate to be safe. The official color is Orchid. It's in my watch list, but I don't plan on bidding. I just love looking at purple bags.

HI Stam experts!!! I just to ask, the measurement for the WIDTH of the Stam is 16", is that from the rolled seams of the bag... OR is that from the widest point when the bag is pressed flat... ... its just that I notice some sellers, such as Lebagboutique, has her measurement on the Bronze stam as 14" x 9" x 5" but the measurements on the MJ website & Eluxury are 16" x 11" x 6"???

would appreciate some clarification!!!
